Piglet (Winnie-the-Pooh)
Piglet is a fictional character from A. A. Milne's ''Winnie-the-Pooh'' books. Piglet is Winnie‑the‑Pooh's closest friend amongst all the toys and animals featured in the stories. Although he is a "Very Small Animal" of a generally timid disposition, he tries to be brave and on occasion conquers his fears. In the books Piglet is introduced in the text from Chapter III of ''Winnie-the-Pooh'', although he is shown earlier in one of the illustrations for Chapter II. He also appears in Chapters V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, and X, as well as every chapter of '' The House at Pooh Corner''. Piglet is best friends with Pooh and is also especially close to Christopher Robin and the rest of the main characters. Like most of the characters, Piglet was based on one of Christopher Robin Milne's stuffed animals. In the original colour versions of Ernest H. Winnie-the-Pooh (book)
''Winnie-the-Pooh'' is a 1926 children's book by English author A. A. Milne and English illustrator E. H. Shepard. The book is set in the fictional Hundred Acre Wood, with a collection of short stories following the adventures of an anthropomorphic teddy bear, Winnie-the-Pooh, and his friends Christopher Robin, Piglet, Eeyore, Owl, Rabbit, Kanga, and Roo. It is the first of two story collections by Milne about Winnie-the-Pooh, the second being '' The House at Pooh Corner'' (1928). Milne and Shepard collaborated previously for English humour magazine '' Punch'', and in 1924 created '' When We Were Very Young'', a poetry collection. Among the characters in the poetry book was a teddy bear Shepard modelled after his son's toy. Harold Fraser-Simson
Harold Fraser-Simson (15 August 1872 – 19 January 1944) was an English composer of light music, including songs and the scores to musical comedies. His most famous musical was the World War I hit ''The Maid of the Mountains'', and he later set numerous children's poems to music, especially those of A. A. Milne. Travis Oates
Travis Oates is an American voice actor. He was born in Dallas, Texas. He took over the voice role of Piglet in Disney's '' Winnie the Pooh''-related media after the death of the original voice actor John Fiedler in 2005. Oates started voicing Piglet in ''Pooh's Heffalump Halloween Movie'' as an understudy actor for Fiedler finishing his recording work due to his death during production, and he later became the character's official voice actor full time beginning with ''Kingdom Hearts II'' and continuing in other Winnie the Pooh productions. He and Jim Cummings were the only two voice actors to return for the 2011 film. He also was one of the original co-hosts of the G4TV original program ''Arena'', a competitive gaming show with Wil Wheaton in 2002. ''Welcome to Pooh Corner'' is a live-action/puppet television series that aired on Disney Channel, featuring the characters from the Winnie the Pooh universe portrayed by actors in human-sized puppet suits, except Roo, who was originally a traditional puppet. The animatronic costumes used for the characters were created by Alchemy II, Inc., headed by Ken Forsse who later created Teddy Ruxpin. Phillip "Phil" Baron (born May 10, 1949) is an American actor, voice actor, puppeteer, composer, lyricist, writer, author, singer and songwriter who voiced Piglet and Rabbit's brother, Robert Rabbit in the Disney Channel live-action/puppet television series ''Welcome to Pooh Corner''. Robie Lester (March 23, 1925 – June 14, 2005) was an American voice artist, actress, and singer, best known as the voice of "Miss Jessica" in the Rankin/Bass animated special ''Santa Claus is Comin' to Town'', the singing voice of Eva Gabor in Disney's ''The Aristocats'' and ''The Rescuers'', and the original "Disneyland Story Reader" for Walt Disney Records read-alongs.
