Phloen Phromdaen
Somsuan Promsawang () (12 June 1939 – 3 August 2024), stage name, professionally known Phloen Phromdaen () was a Thai Luk thung (Thai country song) and speak story singer, and a 2012 winner of National Artist (Thailand), National Artist from Thailand award. He was born on 12 June 1939 in Aranyaprathet District, Prachinburi Province (now in Sa Kaeo Province) to father Pluem and mother Tun. He had five cousins. He has been actively performing since the 1970's. Few people know that Phromdaen was the first luk thung singer to use female hang khrueang (หางเครื่อง, "luk thung dancers") dressed in beautiful feathered costumes, which became a role model for later female luk thung hang khrueang.หน้า 18, ''ความทรงจำ''. ''Matichon'' ( 'opinion of the people', also known as ''Matichon Daily'' to distinguish it from other related publications) is a major Thai-language national daily newspaper. It was founded by a group of progressive writers in 1978, when the country was emerging from the authoritarian government that followed the 6 October 1976 Massacre. ''Matichon'' positions itself as a "quality" upmarket newspaper, as opposed to the usually sensationalist mass-circulation papers. In 1997, it had a daily circulation of about 120,000. It carries a strong focus on politics, and was, along with '' Thai Rath'', among the country's most politically influential newspapers at the time.
