Phetburi
Phetchaburi (, ) or Phet Buri () is a town (''thesaban mueang'') in southern Thailand, capital of Phetchaburi Province. In Thai, Phetchaburi means "city of diamonds" (''buri'' meaning "city" in Sanskrit). It is approximately 160 km south of Bangkok, at the northern end of the Thai peninsula. As of 2005, the town had a population of 26,181 and covers the two ''tambon'' Tha Rap and Khlong Krachaeng. The Phetchaburi River runs through the middle of the city. The region is mostly flat, save for a single hill (called ''Khao Wang'') on the outskirts of town. The royal palace named Phra Nakhon Khiri and one of the many wats are on top of Khao Wang. The hill and town is the site of an annual festival, called the Phra Nakhon Khiri Fair. It lasts for eight days in early February and includes a sound and light show and classical Thai dance. Phetchaburi Province
Phetchaburi (, ) or Phet Buri () is one of the western or central Provinces of Thailand, provinces (''changwat'') of Thailand. Neighboring provinces are (from north clockwise) Ratchaburi province, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram province, Samut Songkhram, and Prachuap Khiri Khan province, Prachuap Khiri Khan. In the west it borders the Tanintharyi Division of Myanmar. Phetchaburi is home to Kaeng Krachan National Park. Geography Phetchaburi is at the north end of the Malay Peninsula, with the Gulf of Thailand to the east and the Tanaosi Range, Tanaosi mountain range forming the boundary to Myanmar. Phetchaburi Railway Station
Phetchaburi railway station is a railway station located in Khlong Krachaeng Subdistrict, Phetchaburi City. It is a class 1 railway station. History The station opened in June 1903 during the reign of King Chulalongkorn, along with the first phase of the Southern Line from Thon Buri Station to Phetchaburi Station. At the time, the railway route was called "The Phetchaburi Railway Route". Benchamatheputhit School (BMP) (Thai:โรงเรียนเบญจมเทพอุทิศ) is a high school in Phetchaburi Province, Thailand. It has its source in the Tenasserim Hills, in the Kaeng Krachan National Park, Kaeng Krachan district and flows through Tha Yang, Ban Lat, Mueang Phetchaburi and mouths into the Bay of Bangkok in Ban Laem district. It is long, most of which is within the Phetchaburi Province. It is the backbone of this province.
