Paul Howell (golfer)
Paul Howell (born June 11, 1991) is a World Long Drive competitor. Howell competes in events that are sanctioned by the World Long Drive Association, which is owned by Golf Channel, part of the NBC Sports Group, and a division of Comcast. The season-long schedule features events airing live on Golf Channel, culminating in the Volvik World Long Drive Championship in September. He is from Wilson, North Carolina. World Long Drive career Howell advanced to the quarterfinals in 2016 and 2017 at the Volvik World Long Drive Championship (Thackerville, Okla.), and in 2018 he finished runner-up at the Ak-Chin Smash in the Sun (Arizona), which aired live on Golf Channel. He also advanced to the quarterfinals at both the Atlantic City Boardwalk Bash (New Jersey) and Tennessee Big Shots benefiting Niswonger Children's Hospital in 2018, both of which aired live on Golf Channel. Paul Howell (MEP)
Paul Frederick Howell (17 January 1951 – 20 September 2008) was a British politician who served as a Conservative Party Member of the European Parliament (MEP) for Norfolk from 1979 to 1994. Biography Born in King's Lynn, the son of Sir Ralph Howell MP, he was educated at Gresham's School, Holt and St Edmund Hall, Oxford. After Oxford, Howell devoted much of his early career to the Conservative Party, first in its Research Department (1973–1975), and later as an MEP. Generally on the liberal wing of the Party, he was a member of the Tory Reform Group. After losing his Norfolk constituency in the 1994 European election, he went into business as chairman of Riceman Insurance Investments plc. Always a pro-European, the rise of the Euro-sceptics in the Conservative Party led him to join the Liberal Democrats. Paul Howell (born 10 January 1960) is a British Conservative Party politician who was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sedgefield from 2019 until 2024. Prior to his political career, he was an accountant. Early life and career Paul Howell was born on 10 January 1960 in Bishop Auckland Hospital in County Durham. He was raised in Ferryhill and Newton Aycliffe and attended Dean Bank and Sugar Hill primary schools and The Avenue Comprehensive School. His father was a divisional fire officer. He has a Master of Business Administration degree from Durham University. After leaving school, he worked as a chartered accountant for firms such as Darchem, Blue Circle Industries, and Wilsonart.
