Paul Boardman
Paul Stanley Boardman (born 6 November 1967) is an English former professional footballer and sports broadcaster who worked for Sky Sports News. Football career After graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland, Boardman signed a professional contract with Plymouth Argyle, scoring on his league debut against Bournemouth. His career came to an end after two and a half years following an injury, having made only three league appearances. Later career After eight years spent doing stand-up on the comedy circuit, Boardman moved into television, presenting a show on satellite TV channel Men and Motors called ''Boobs''. He joined Sky Sports News as a presenter in June 2001, and also hosted the football phone-in show '' You're On Sky Sports''. He later hosted Sky Sports' football-highlight show '' Football First''. Stan Boardman
Stanley Boardman (born 7 December 1937) is an English comedian. Early life and career Boardman was evacuated with his family to Wrexham during the Second World War, and after the family returned to their Merseyside home mistakenly thinking the area had escaped the German bombs, his elder brother Tommy was killed in a bombing raid. He had been a keen footballer in his youth and was an apprentice at Liverpool F.C. He signed for Tranmere Rovers as a teenager. Boardman ran a haulage firm before winning a holiday camp talent contest and breaking into television on '' Opportunity Knocks'' and '' The Comedians''. Boardman became known for his anti-German jokes, with his claim that "the Germans bombed our chippy" during the Second World War. Andrea Vivienne Boardman (born 6 November 1967 in Enfield, Middlesex) is an English television presenter. History In 1985, Boardman represented England in the Miss International 1985 pageant, held in Japan where she reached the semi-finals. Boardman began presenting when ITV's Disney Club launched in the UK in 1988. She was given the role as female presenter after 2,000 hopefuls applied for the job. Sky Sports News (SSN) is a British pay television, paid television sports news channel run by Sky Limited, Sky, a division of Comcast. History Since 1992, Sky Sports had broadcast sports news, initially a brief ''Football Update'' and later this was expanded into a 30-minute programme called ''Sky Sports Centre''. These programmes were generally broadcast on weekdays at 6pm and 10pm. Sky Sports News launched on 1 October 1998, the launch date of BSkyB's Digital Satellite service, and was BSkyB's first digital only channel. On 10 April 2000, Sky Sports News relaunched as Sky Sports.com TV, to tie with the launch of the SkySports.com website. You're On Sky Sports
You're On Sky Sports was a topical football phone-in discussion television programme on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports News Radio. Originally hosted by Rob Hawthorne then Rob McCaffrey and Gary Newbon, the show was chaired by Jason Cundy. There will always be one or two panel members, whether former football professionals or others involved with the game in some form. Regulars include Steve Claridge, Kenny Sansom, Peter Beagrie, Tony Gale and Warren Barton. The program usually aired at 10pm either the night of a UEFA Champions League match or a Premier League match that is aired on Sky Sports. As from the start of the 2007/2008 season, YOSS is regularly broadcast at 7.30pm on Saturday evenings for 55 minutes, and every Wednesday evening around 10pm for 90 minutes.
