Paru-Parong Bukid
Paru-Parong bukid is a traditional "Kutang-Kutang" Philippines, Filipino folk song which originated from "Mariposa Bella", a Spanish language in the Philippines, Filipino song in Spanish originated in the 1890s. The song "Mariposa Bella" was composed during the time of Americans in the Philippines, American invasion of the Philippines. In 1938, "Mariposa Bella" was totally forgotten when "Paru-Parong Bukid" was released as a soundtrack of a film of the same title. The Tagalog rendition was composed by Felipe Padilla de León, Felipe de León. In popular culture A drama movie titled Paroparong Bukid was released by Sampaguita Pictures in 1938, starring Rudy Concepcion, using the folk song Paru-Parong Bukid as a soundtrack. Felipe Padilla de León (May 1, 1912 – December 5, 1992) was a Filipino classical music composer, conductor, and scholar. He was known for composing different sonatas, marches and concertos that reflect the Filipino identity. Sampaguita Pictures was a Philippine film production company. It was named for the Philippine national flower, sampaguita. Luis F. Mercado (June 21, 1928 – March 15, 2012) also known as Luis Gonzales, was a Filipino actor who appeared in more than 100 films during his career, most of them by Sampaguita Pictures. Guillermo Gómez y Rivera (; born 12 September 1936) is a Spanish-Filipino multilingual author, historian, educator and linguistic scholar whose lifelong work has been devoted to the advocay to preserve Spanish culture as an "important element" of the Filipino identity (according to Hispanista movement).
