Partners Again
''Partners Again'' is a 1926 American silent comedy film that was produced by Samuel Goldwyn, released through United Artists, and directed by Henry King. This ethnic Jewish humor film is based on the 1922 Broadway play ''Partners Again'' starring Alex Carr and Barney Bernard, which reprises their characters from the very successful 1913 Broadway play ''Potash and Perlmutter'' (which had 441 performances from 1913 to 1915). Goldwyn produced a 1923 film adaptation of ''Potash and Perlmutter'', and a 1924 sequel called ''In Hollywood with Potash and Perlmutter''. In ''Partners Again'' the two are in the automobile industry. Henry King (January 24, 1886June 29, 1982) was an American actor and film director. Widely considered one of the finest and most successful filmmakers of his era, King was nominated for two Academy Award for Best Director, Academy Awards for Best Director, and directed seven films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Alexander Carr (actor)
Alexander Carr (1878–1946) was a Russian born stage and screen actor, writer, vaudevillian, burlesque and circus performer. Biography He made his first stage appearance on stage at a music hall in St. Paul, Minnesota. He appeared later in theatres in Louisville, Nashville and Buffalo. In Chicago he appeared at the Trocadero theatre. His first New York appearance was at the Circle Theatre in 1904 at the Circle Theatre in "Wine, Women and Song" imitating David Warfield. He established an on stage partnership with friend Barney Bernard. Beginning in 1913 the two appeared in the long running ethnic Jewish play '' Potatsh and Perlmutter'', one of the most successful plays of the early twentieth century Broadway. Brigadier-General Sir Gilbert Falkingham Clayton (6 April 1875 – 11 September 1929) was a British Army intelligence officer and colonial administrator, who worked in several countries in the Middle East in the early 20th century. In Egypt, during World War I as an intelligence officer, he supervised those who worked to start the Arab Revolt. In Palestine, Arabia and Mesopotamia, in the 1920s as a colonial administrator, he helped negotiate the borders of the countries that later became Israel, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Iraq. Lew Brice (October 26, 1893 – June 16, 1966) was an American actor, dancer and comedian. Biography He was born Louis Borach on October 26, 1893 in Manhattan, New York City, the brother of Fannie Brice. He was the youngest of four children born to Rose Stern, a Hungarian Jewish woman who emigrated to America at age ten; and Alsatian immigrant Charles Borach. Charles and Rose were saloon owners and had four children, Philip (born 1887), Carrie (born 1889), Fania, and Louis.
