Cumberland County is a county in the State of New South Wales, Australia. Most of the Sydney metropolitan area is located within the County of Cumberland. The County of Cumberland stretches from Broken Bay to the north, the Hawkesbury River to the north-west, the Nepean River to the west, the Cataract River to the south-west and the northern suburbs of Wollongong to the south. Rosemeadow, New South Wales
Rosemeadow is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Rosemeadow is located 56 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Campbelltown and is part of the Macarthur region. History Rosemeadow owes its name to early settler Thomas Rose, who in 1818 bought a farm called Mount Gilead which covered parts of modern-day Rosemeadow and neighbouring Gilead. Rose was a baker and publican as well as a farmer, building a mill on his property and a couple of large dams which helped him and his neighbours survive the drought of 1829. The area remained farmland until the mid-1970s when Sydney's urban sprawl reached it and the suburb was officially named in 1976. Gilead () is a suburb of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. Gilead is located 58 kilometres south-west of the Sydney central business district, in the Local government in Australia, local government area of the City of Campbelltown (New South Wales), City of Campbelltown and is part of the Macarthur, New South Wales, Macarthur region. History Gilead was a land named in the Bible and famed for its fields of wheat. It obviously seemed like an ideal name for a wheat farm when Reuban Uther was granted in 1812 but Uther only persisted with his dream for six years before selling the estate. The purchaser was Thomas Rose (died 1837), Thomas Rose who renamed it Mount Gilead. Rose lived and farmed the estate from 1818 until his death in 1837. Menangle Park Railway Station
Menangle Park railway station is located on the Main Southern line in New South Wales, Australia. It serves the town of Menangle Park, opening on 26 September 1937. Menangle Park previously had two additional platforms and run rounds to service the adjacent Menangle Park Paceway. These opened in 1914 and closed in 1963 with the platforms still in situ. It is serviced by NSW TrainLink Southern Highlands Line services travelling between Campbelltown and Moss Vale with 2 weekend morning services to Sydney Central and limited evening services to Goulburn. Camden County, New South Wales
Camden County was one of the original Nineteen Counties in New South Wales and is now one of the 141 cadastral divisions of New South Wales. It included the coastal area near Wollongong south to the Shoalhaven River, and also inland encompassing Berrima and Picton. Its western boundary was the Wollondilly River.
