Paal (Limburgish: ''Poël'') is a town and deelgemeente, borough in the municipality of Beringen, Belgium, Beringen, in the Belgium, Belgian Limburg (Belgium), Limburg Campine. Once known as ''Pael'', the town has a long history. The town plays an important role in both the industry and tourism of Beringen. The town has a recreational area, the "''Paalse Plas''", with ponds, a sailing lake and a golf course. The annual ''Paal op Stelten'' music festival attracts 20,000 visitors to the town each August. The industrial area along the A13 motorway (Belgium), A13 motorway houses the facilities of a number of multinational companies. Paal, Netherlands
Paal is a hamlet in the southwest Netherlands. It is a part of the municipality of Hulst, Zeeland, and is located 35 km north of Antwerp, Belgium. The village was first mentioned in 1847 as Paal (De), and refers to a beacon. From at least 1676 until 1874 there was a ferry to Bergen op Zoom at the location. Paal used to be a fishing village which specialised in mussels. It was home to 412 people in 1840. In 1979, the dike was enlarged and the old harbour disappeared. In 1980, a marina was built instead. Paal used to be part of the municipality of Graauw en Langendam. Phall
Phall (), also spelt fall, faal, phaal, fahl or fal, is a curry that originated in the Bangladeshi-owned curry-houses of Birmingham, England, and has also spread to Canada and the United States. It is not to be confused with the char-grilled, gravyless, finger food phall from Bangalore. It is one of the hottest forms of curry regularly available, even hotter than the vindaloo, using many ground standard chilli peppers, or a hotter type of chilli such as scotch bonnet, habanero, or Carolina Reaper. Typically, the dish is a tomato-based thick curry and includes ginger and optionally fennel seeds. Phall has achieved notoriety as the spiciest generally available dish from Indian restaurants. It is, however, quite rare to find in comparison to vindaloo (which is usually the staple hottest curry of most Indian restaurants in the UK). Paal Kibsgaard (born April 1967) is a Norwegian petroleum engineer and businessman; the former chairman and CEO of Schlumberger, the world's largest oilfield services company. Early life He was born in Ålesund, Norway in April 1967. Education He qualified as a petroleum engineer with a master's degree from the Norwegian Institute of Technology in 1991. Career Kibsgaard started his career with ExxonMobil in 1992, and joined Schlumberger in 1997. He became its CEO in August 2011, succeeding Andrew Gould, who retired as chairman and CEO. He was replaced by Olivier Le Peuch in August 2019. Under his leadership, the company laid off approximately 70,000 employees in less than three years. Árpád Paál
Árpád Paál (15 April 1889 – 9 April 1943) was a Hungarian botanist and plant physiologist who was among the first to experimentally demonstrate the existence of auxins. He taught at the University of Budapest where he established a plant physiology institute. Paál was born in Budapest to Árpád and Anna Dávid. He received a doctorate in the humanities from the University of Budapest (1911) and then travelled through Europe. From 1915 he worked at the botany and pathology station under the ministry of agriculture. In 1918 he became a private lecturer at Budapest University. He became an assistant professor in 1922 and headed the botany department from 1929. He studied plant growth and the response to stimuli. He conducted experiments on the bending of the growing apex of plants towards light.
