P Veeramuthuvel
Palanivel Veeramuthuvel (born 22 October 1976) is an Indian aerospace engineer who works for the Indian Space Research Organisation. He served as the project director of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. Early life and education P Veeramuthuvel was born on 22 October 1976 in Viluppuram, Tamil Nadu, India. He attended the railway school in Villupuram and earned a diploma in mechanical engineering from Ezhumalai Polytechnic College, Villupuram. He attended Sri Sai Ram Engineering College in Chennai for his BTech degree in Mechanical Engineering and then NIT Trichy for his MTech degree. He further on completed his PhD at IIT Madras from 2011 to 2015. Career Veeramuthuvel joined Lakshmi Engineering Works, Coimbatore as a senior engineer. He then joined the rotary wing research and design center of the helicopter division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited Bangalore. Chandrayaan-2 (, ; ) is the second lunar exploration mission developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), after Chandrayaan-1. It consists of a lunar orbiter, and also included the ''Vikram'' lander, and the ''Pragyan'' lunar rover, all of which were developed in India. The main scientific objective is to map and study the variations in lunar surface composition, as well as the location and abundance of lunar water. Muthayya Vanitha is an Indian electronics system engineer who has led projects on satellites at the Indian Space Research Organization. She was the project director of the Chandrayaan-2 lunar mission of the ISRO. Early life and education Vanitha is from Chennai, India and originally trained as a design engineer. She completed her schooling in Boiler plant school Trichy. She graduated from College of Engineering, Guindy. Career Vanitha has worked at ISRO for over three decades. She joined the ISRO as a junior engineer working in various areas of hardware testing and development. Mars Orbiter Mission 2 (MOM 2), also called ''Mangalyaan-2'' ("Mars-craft", from sa, मंगल ''mangal'', "Mars" and यान ''yān'', "craft, vehicle"), is India's second interplanetary mission planned by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). In a recorded interview in October 2019, Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC) director indicated possibility of inclusion of a lander but in an interview to The Times Of India in February 2021 ISRO chairman clarified that the mission will consist only an orbiter.
