Our Time Down Here was an English punk rock band from Southampton, England, formed in 2006. Their song "Black Ice & Bad Advice" from the album Midnight Mass gained radio play on BBC Radio. NME said, in reference to the band's debut album, "if there's a finer UK hardcore album released this year then I'd really, really really like to hear it". Vice Media referred to them as "UK punk's best-kept secret". Funeral for a Friend lead vocalist Matthew Davies-Kreye and Natives member Jack Fairbrother were outspoken supporters of the band. After the band's separation in 2013, Gould and Miles went on to form Creeper. Youth Crew
Youth crew is a music subculture of hardcore punk, which was particularly prominent during the New York hardcore scene of the late 1980s. Youth crew is distinguished from other punk styles by its optimism and moralistic outlook. The original youth crew bands and fans were predominantly straight edge (abstaining from alcohol and drugs) and vegetarian or vegan. Early musical influences included Minor Threat, Bad Brains, Negative Approach, 7 Seconds, and Black Flag. While some youth crew music is similar to melodic hardcore, other styles can be very thrash metal influenced and also includes breakdowns intended for the hardcore dancing style associated with live performances. Melodic Hardcore
Melodic hardcore is a broadly defined subgenre of hardcore punk with a strong emphasis on melody in its guitar work. It generally incorporates fast rhythms, melodic and often distorted guitar riffs, and vocal styles tending towards shouting and screaming. Nevertheless, the genre has been very diverse, with different bands showcasing very different styles. Many pioneering melodic hardcore bands (such as Bad Religion and Descendents), have proven influential across the spectrum of punk rock, as well as rock music more generally. Miss Vincent is an English punk rock band formed in Southampton, Hampshire, England in 2012. The band currently features original frontman Alex Marshall and lead guitarist Lawrie Pattison, as well as bass player Owain Mainwaring and drummer Nate Davenport. All four members contribute to their two- and three-part harmony vocals, a trademark of the band's sound. In August 2020, the band signed to Silent Cult Records, having previously been signed to Uncle M Records and Engineer Records, and in May 2021 announced their debut full-length album, ''A Funeral For Youth'' which was released that September. ''Good Mourning'' is the fourth studio album by American punk rock band Alkaline Trio, released May 13, 2003 on Vagrant Records. Background and production Towards the end of May 2002, the band recorded their next album; they "decided that waiting until after Warped Tour would be too long." Recording sessions were held at Cello Studios with producers Joe McGrath and Jerry Finn. The album marks the first appearance of drummer Derek Grant, described by vocalist/guitarist Matt Skiba as "a whole new influence."
