Otmar Szafnauer (born 13 August 1964) is a Romanian-American engineer. Biography Szafnauer was born in Semlac, a small village in Western Romania to an American father of German descent and a Romanian mother. His family moved to Detroit in the United States when he was seven years old. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Wayne State University in Detroit before completing a master's degree in business and finance from the University of Detroit. He joined the Ford Motor Company in 1986 and was appointed Programmes Manager for Ford in the United States. While working for Ford, he attended the Jim Russell Racing Driver School and started racing in Formula Ford in 1991. Otmar Freiherr Von Verschuer
Otmar Freiherr von Verschuer (16 July 1896 – 8 August 1969) was a German human biologist and geneticist, who was the Professor of Human Genetics at the University of Münster until he retired in 1965. A member of the Dutch noble Verschuer family, his title Freiherr is often translated as baron. He was regarded as a pioneer in the twin methodology of genetics research and in the study of the inheritance of diseases and anomalies. A Nazi-affiliated eugenicist with an interest in racial hygiene, he was an advocate of compulsory sterilization programs in the first half of the 20th century. Among his many students was Josef Mengele, a war criminal who directed experiments on children at Auschwitz. He successfully redefined himself as a geneticist in the postwar era. Othmar Reiser
Othmar Reiser or Otmar Rajzer (21 December 1861 – 31 March 1936, Pickern) was an Austro-Slovenian ornithologist and naturalist who worked as curator of the bird collections in the natural history museum at Sarajevo, working there from its foundation for thirty-three years during which he explored various regions including the Balkans and South America and collected specimens. Several species have been named after him. Biography Reiser was born in Vienna, son of a well known lawyer, Otmar Reiser sr. whose namesake father was a well-known mayor of Maribor. Otmar Emminger (2 March 1911 – 3 August 1986) was a German economist who served as the president of the Deutsche Bundesbank from 1977 to 1979. Early life and education Emminger was born in Augsburg on 2 March 1911. In 1934, he received a PhD from the University of Munich. Career and activities Emminger was a lecturer at his alma mater. He began to work at the Deutsche Bundesbank in October 1950. From 1 April 1953 to 31 December 1969 he was board member of the bank. In addition, he served as West Germany's executive director at the International Monetary Fund from 1953 to 1959. He was vice president of the bank from 1 January 1970 to 31 May 1977. He was appointed president of the bank on 1 June 1977, succeeding Karl Klasen in the post. Karl Otto Pöhl became his deputy. Otmar Issing (born 27 March 1936 in Würzburg) is a German economist who served as a member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank from 1998 to 2006 and concurrently as ECB chief economist. He developed the 'two-pillar' approach to monetary policy decision-making that the ECB has adopted. After leaving the Executive Board, Issing been serving as president of the Center for Financial Studies since 2006.
