Ossan
Ossan is a community/status group of Muslims in Kerala, south India. The Ossan men were the traditional barbers and circumcisers among the Muslims of the central Malabar Coast (northern Kerala).Kunhali, V. Kerala
Kerala ( ; ) is a state on the Malabar Coast of India. It was formed on 1 November 1956, following the passage of the States Reorganisation Act, by combining Malayalam-speaking regions of the erstwhile regions of Cochin, Malabar, South Canara, and Thiruvithamkoor. Circumcision
Circumcision is a procedure that removes the foreskin from the human penis. In the most common form of the operation, the foreskin is extended with forceps, then a circumcision device may be placed, after which the foreskin is excised. Topical or locally injected anesthesia is generally used to reduce pain and physiologic stress. It is usually elective, performed as preventive healthcare, a religious rite, or cultural practice. Malabar Coast
The Malabar Coast is the southwestern coast of the Indian subcontinent. Geographically, it comprises the wettest regions of southern India, as the Western Ghats intercept the moisture-laden monsoon rains, especially on their westward-facing mountain slopes. Hajjam
The Hijama, also known as'' cupping'' are an ethnic group in India known for practicing cupping therapy. The word Hijama has been derived from the Arabic word , means "sucking", referring to this therapy. A practitioner was called a ''Hijama'' in Arab countries, and the name was used in India as well. Communities of Arab campaigned in Persia, Egypt to propagate the message of Islam during the Caliphate power of some companions of Muhammad. Then the Persians ran to conquer India.
