Oshana Network
Oshana is one of the fourteen regions of Namibia, its capital is Oshakati. The towns of Oshakati, Ongwediva and Ondangwa, all situated with this region, form an urban cluster with the second largest population concentration in Namibia after the capital Windhoek. , Oshana had 113,112 registered voters. Geography Oshana is one of only three regions without either a coastline or a foreign border. It borders the following regions: * Ohangwena - north * Oshikoto - east * Kunene - south * Omusati - west The name ''Oshana'' describes the most prominent landscape feature in the area, namely the shallow, seasonally inundated depressions which underpin the local agro ecological system. Regions Of Namibia
Namibia uses regions as its first-level subnational administrative divisions. Since 2013, it has 14 regions which in turn are subdivided into 121 constituencies. Upon Namibian independence, the pre-existing subdivisions from the South African administration were taken over. Since then, demarcations and numbers of regions and constituencies of Namibia are tabled by delimitation commissions and accepted or declined by the National Assembly. Okatyali Constituency (also: Okatjali) is an electoral constituency in the Oshana Region of Namibia. It had 2,815 inhabitants in 2004 and 2,051 registered voters . Its district capital is the settlement of Okatyali. Politics and governance Okatyali constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party. Okatana Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Oshana Region of Namibia. It had 15,562 inhabitants in 2004 and 9,111 registered voters . Its district capital is the settlement of Okatana. Politics Oktana constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party. In the 2015 local and regional elections the SWAPO candidate won uncontested and became councillor after no opposition party nominated a candidate. The SWAPO candidate won the 2020 regional election by a large margin. Okaku Constituency
Okaku Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Oshana Region of Namibia. It had 19,262 inhabitants in 2004 and 10,384 registered voters . Its district capital is the settlement of Okaku. Okaku falls under the Ondonga Traditional Authority. Okaku residents depend on farming. They cultivate their fields on a subsistence basis to get food such as millet, beans, melons, sorghum and nuts. Their staple is porridge (''oshithima''), and their traditional drink is ''ontaku''. Politics Okaku constituency is traditionally a stronghold of the South West Africa People's Organization (SWAPO) party. Its first councillor is Henock ya Kasita who served the constituency from Namibian independence till 2010. Ya Kasita was followed by Joseph Kapya Endjala who was the head of Cosdec centre in Ondangwa. Constituencies Of Namibia
Each of the 14 regions of Namibia is further subdivided into electoral constituencies. The size of the constituencies varies with the size and population of each region. There are currently 121 constituencies in Namibia. The most populous constituency according to the 2011 census was Rundu Urban in the Kavango West region with 63,431 people; the least populous was Okatyali in the Oshana region with 3,187 people. The administrative division of Namibia is tabled by '' Delimitation Commissions'' and accepted or declined by the National Assembly. In 1992, the First Delimitation Commission chaired by Judge President Johan Strydom determined the number of constituencies to be 95. Since then, every Delimitation Commission has increased this number to accommodate population growth. The fourth Delimitation Commission increased the number of constituencies to its present number in 2013.
