Ordos City
Ordos ( Mongolian: ''Ordos''; ), also known as Ih Ju, is one of the twelve major subdivisions of Inner Mongolia, China. It lies within the Ordos Plateau of the Yellow River. Although mainly rural, Ordos is administered as a prefecture-level city. Its population was 2,153,638 as of the 2020 census and its built-up (or metro) area made up of Ejin Horo Banner and Kangbashi District was home to 366,779 inhabitants, as Dongsheng District (574,442 inhabitants) is not a conurbation yet. Ordos is known for its recently undertaken large scale government projects including most prominently the new Kangbashi District, an urban district planned as a massive civic mall with abundant monuments, cultural institutions and other showpiece architecture. It was the venue for the 2012 Miss World Final. The Ordos Plateau, also known as the Ordos Basin or simply the Ordos, is a highland sedimentary basin in North China, northwest China with an elevation of , and consisting mostly of land enclosed by the Ordos Loop, a large northerly rectangular bend of the Yellow River. The Ordos Desert () is a desert/steppe region in Northwest China, administrated under the prefecture of Ordos City in the Inner Mongolian Autonomous Region (centered ca. ). It extends over an area of approximately , and comprises two sub-deserts: China's 7th-largest desert, the Kubuqi Desert, in the north; and China's 8th-largest desert, the Mu Us Desert, in the south. Ordos Mongolian (also ''Urdus''; Mongolian ; Chinese 鄂尔多斯 ''È'ěrduōsī'') is a variety of Central Mongolic spoken in the Ordos City region in Inner Mongolia and historically by Ordos Mongols. Ordos Ejin Horo Airport
Ordos Ejin Horo International Airport is an airport serving Ordos City in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is located in Ejin Horo Banner. First built in 1959 and called Dongsheng Airport, the airport ceased operation in 1983. In 2005 the airport was rebuilt at the current site with an investment of 350 million yuan, and re-opened in July 2007. Facilities Ordos Airport has a runway that is 3,200 meters long and 60 meters wide (class 4E). It is designed to handle 270,000 passengers per year. The airport has two terminals: a main international terminal building with 11 jet bridges and a VIP Lounge. It also has a smaller domestic terminal nearby with two jet bridges. Michal Ordoš (born 27 January 1983) is a Czech professional footballer who plays as a forward for FK Blansko. Club career Ordoš is a prolific goalscorer. In the 2008–09 season, he scored nine goals. In the 2009-2010 season Ordoš scored 12 goals, becoming the Gambrinus liga top-scorer. In July 2017, Ordoš signed with Austrian club SC Retz.
