Openbaar Ministerie
The Public Prosecution Service ( nl, Openbaar Ministerie, OM; ) is the body of public prosecutors in the Dutch criminal justice system. The literal translation of ''Openbaar Ministerie'', "Public Ministry", can lead to a misunderstanding, as the OM is not a ministry like the Ministry of Finance. The Public Prosecution Service decides who has to appear in front of the judge and for which offence or crime. It is the body that can decide to prosecute someone. The main domain of the OM is criminal law rather than civil law. Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius
Dilan Yeşilgöz-Zegerius (born 18 June 1977) is a Dutch politician who has served as Minister of Justice and Security in the Fourth Rutte cabinet since 10 January 2022. A member of the People's Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), she previously served as a member of the House of Representatives from 2017 to 2021 and State Secretary for Economic Affairs and Climate Policy from 2021 until 2022. Early life Yeşilgöz-Zegerius was born in Ankara, Turkey, and emigrated to the Netherlands as a child. Her family is from a Turkish- Kurdish background and originally from Tunceli.
