Ondrej Nepela Arena
The Ondrej Nepela Arena ( sk, Zimný Štadión Ondreja Nepelu) (also known as ''Orange Arena'' during the 2011 IIHF Championship, or as ''Slovnaft Arena'') is an indoor arena in Bratislava, Slovakia. It is primarily used for ice hockey and it was the home arena of the KHL's HC Slovan Bratislava. History It opened in 1940 and held 8,350 people until its full reconstruction started in 2009. The reconstructed arena opened in spring 2011 with one of the most advance game presentation, LED scoreboards and security systems ever built. It has increased capacity to 10,055 spectators. In the past Samsung arena was called ''ST Arena'' and ''T-Com Arena''. Reconstruction costs 87 million €. In the arena are also next two ice areas in the training halls. In addition to the arena, a new ''DoubleTree by Hilton'' hotel was built, which mainly serves for the accommodation of foreign athletes. Bratislava

1973 World Figure Skating Championships
The 1973 World Figure Skating Championships were held from February 26 to March 3 in Bratislava, Czechoslovakia, sanctioned by the International Skating Union. Medals were awarded in men's singles, ladies' singles, pair skating, and ice dance. It was the last year in which solid gold medals were awarded in figure skating. The opening ceremony was held at the Philharmonic of Bratislava. The Chairman of the organising committee was Miroslav Cerveka. Irina Rodnina won her first World title with her new partner, Alexander Zaitsev after her previous partner, Alexei Ulanov, chose to skate with Lyudmila Smirnova. Rodnina / Zaitsev's music stopped during their short program, possibly due to a Czech worker acting in retaliation for the suppression of the Prague Spring. 2017 Women's World Floorball Championships
The 2017 Women's World Floorball Championships was the 11th World Championships in women's floorball. The tournament took place in Bratislava in Slovakia between 1–9 December 2017. Sixteen teams participated and the competition was won by Sweden. Qualification All teams, apart from the host country (Slovakia), will have to qualify for the Final Round via the qualifications, and there will be a total of 6 qualification groups - one in the Americas, one in Asia-Oceania and four in Europe. Thailand participated in the women's event for the first-ever time. 2017 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship
The 2017 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship was the 20th and final IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship, an international inline hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The World Championship runs alongside the 2017 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship Division I tournament and took place between 25 June and 1 July 2017 in Bratislava, Slovakia at the Ondrej Nepela Arena. The tournament was won by the United States, earning their seventh World Championship title. Finland finished in second place and the Czech Republic in third after defeating Sweden in the bronze medal match. The 2016 European Figure Skating Championships were held 25–31 January 2016 in Bratislava, Slovakia. Medals were awarded in the disciplines of men's singles, ladies' singles, pairs, and ice dancing. Eligibility Skaters were eligible for the event if they represented a European member nation of the International Skating Union and had reached the age of 15 before July 1, 2015 in their place of birth. The 2008 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship was the 12th IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship, an international inline hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The World Championship runs alongside the 2008 IIHF Inline Hockey World Championship Division I tournament and took place between 21 and 28 June 2008 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
