Brian Mulroney
Martin Brian Mulroney ( ; born March 20, 1939) is a Canadian lawyer, businessman, and politician who served as the 18th prime minister of Canada from 1984 to 1993. Born in the eastern Quebec city of Baie-Comeau, Mulroney studied political science and law. He then moved to Montreal and gained prominence as a labour lawyer. After placing third in the 1976 Progressive Conservative leadership election, he was appointed president of the Iron Ore Company of Canada in 1977. He held that post until 1983, when he successfully became leader of the Progressive Conservatives. Michael J. Bryant (born April 13, 1966) is a Canadian lawyer and former politician. He has been the CEO of Legal Aid BC since January 2022. Previously, he was executive director and general counsel for the Canadian Civil Liberties Association. Bryant was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, representing the downtown Toronto riding of St. Paul's from 1999 to 2009. Pierre A. Michaud (April 17, 1936 – March 17, 2023) was a Canadian lawyer and judge. Michaud was Chief Justice of Quebec from 1994 to 2002. Born in Port-Alfred, Quebec, he received a law degree from the Université de Montréal in 1960. He was called to the Quebec Bar in 1961, and appointed Queen's Counsel in 1976. From 1961 to 1983, he was a trial attorney with a law firm in Montreal. In 1983, he was made a Judge of Quebec Superior Court. Michael Arthur Meighen, (born March 25, 1939) is a Canadian lawyer, cultural patron, and former senator. He practised as a litigation and commercial lawyer in Montreal and Toronto. Louis Yves Fortier (born September 11, 1935) is a Canadian diplomat, trial and appellate lawyer, arbitrator and corporate director. He served as the Canadian Ambassador to the United Nations from August 1988 to December 1991. In August 2013, he became a member of the Security Intelligence Review Committee and the Queen's Privy Council for Canada.
