Ogden River
The Ogden River is a long river in Weber County. Utah, United States. Description The Ogden River's three forks (North, Central, and South) begin in the Wasatch Range in Weber County and converge at Pineview Reservoir, near Huntsville. The river then flows southwest through Ogden Canyon, the city of Ogden, and the border of West Haven and Marriott-Slaterville where it joins the Weber River. The Ogden River is older than the Wasatch Mountains. As the mountains slowly rose over the last 15 million years by periodic faulting on the Wasatch fault, the river was able to cut through the landscape to create the remarkable Ogden Canyon, which is a roughly long canyon with a series of smaller side canyons. The city of Ogden is at the western end of Ogden Canyon, with the eastern end at Pineview Dam. Weber River
The Weber River ( ) is a long river of northern Utah, United States. It begins in the northwest of the Uinta Mountains and empties into the Great Salt Lake. The Weber River was named for American fur trapper John Henry Weber. The Weber River rises in the northwest of the Uinta Mountains, at the foot of peaks including Bald Mountain, Notch Mountain, and Mount Watson. It passes by Oakley, and fills the reservoir of Rockport Lake, then turns north, receiving the flow of major tributaries Silver Creek and at Coalville, Chalk Creek. Coalville is also at the upper end of Echo Reservoir; Below the reservoir, the river passes Henefer, turns more westerly, and then passes Morgan, where it receives East Canyon Creek. Brigham City, Utah
Brigham City is a city in Box Elder County, Utah, United States. The population was 17,899 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Box Elder County. It lies on the western slope of the Wellsville Mountains, a branch of the Wasatch Range at the western terminus of Box Elder Canyon. Brigham City saw most of its growth during the 1950s and 1960s but has seen a struggling economy and stagnating growth. Peter Skene Ogden (alternately Skeene, Skein, or Skeen; baptised 12 February 1790 – 27 September 1854) was a British-Canadian fur trader and an early explorer of what is now British Columbia and the Western United States. During his many expeditions, he explored parts of Oregon, Washington, Nevada, California, Utah, Idaho, and Wyoming. Despite early confrontations with the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) while working for the North West Company, he later became a senior official in the operations of the HBC's Columbia Department, serving as manager of Fort Simpson and similar posts. Pineview Dam
Pineview Dam is located in Ogden Canyon, east of Ogden, Utah, United States. Description Pineview Dam is located at the eastern end of Ogden Canyon at the confluence of the north, south, and center forks of the Ogden River. The western half of present-day Huntsville is located between the central and southern bays of Pineview Reservoir. State Route 158 crosses the dam and runs adjacent on the north and west, former State Route 166 on the north and east, and State Route 39 on the southeast and south. The dam was developed as a means of providing reliable irrigation to located between the Wasatch Range and the Great Salt Lake. Weber County ( ) is a county in the U.S. state of Utah. As of the 2020 census, the population was 262,223, making it Utah's fourth-most populous county. Its county seat and largest city is Ogden, the home of Weber State University. The county was named for the Weber River. West Haven is a city in Weber County, Utah, United States. The population was 10,272 at the 2010 census. It was incorporated on July 1, 1991, combining the unincorporated communities of Kanesville and Wilson. West Haven is located approximately north of Salt Lake City, west of the Wasatch Mountains in northern Utah. The confluence of the Weber and Ogden Rivers is located inside the northeastern portion of the city. The city is bordered on the east by Ogden, on the south by Roy, on the west by Hooper, and on the north by Marriott-Slaterville.
