Oday Talib ( ar, عدي طالب) (born 1 July 1981 in Iraq) is an Iraqi goalkeeper. He currently plays for Naft Al-Basra. Career Talib began his career with Al-Shorta in 2002 before earning a move the following season to Baghdad-based team Al-Zawraa. After spending three years there, Talib went on to play for Al-Minaa before being signed by his current club, Duhok, an Iraqi-Kurdish outfit based in Dohuk. Talib served as back-up to goalkeeper Noor Sabri throughout Iraq's run to the semi-finals of the Men's Olympic Football Tournament at Athens 2004. Al-Minaa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الميناء الرياضي, lit=Port Sports Club) is an Iraqi multi-sport club based in Al-Maqal, Basra that participates in the Iraq Division One, the second tier of Iraqi football. It is one of the most popular clubs in Iraq, particularly in the south, and became the first club outside Baghdad to win the Iraqi Premier League. Al-Minaa was founded on November 22, 1931, in Al-Maqal. In 1974, the club was merged with another team called Al-Bareed to form a single club called Al-Muwasalat, and it was a strange situation because the Al-Bareed team were based in Baghdad while Al-Minaa were based in Basra and the two teams met in Baghdad on the day of the match only, so after just one season the club was dissolved and Al-Minaa returned in their place. Al-Zawraa Sports Club ( ar, نادي الزوراء الرياضي) is an Iraqi sports club based in Utayfia, Karkh District (near Tigris River), Baghdad. Their football team compete in the Iraqi Premier League, the top-flight of Iraqi football. Al-Zawraa are the most decorated club in Iraq having won 14 Premier League titles, 16 Iraq FA Cups and 5 Iraqi Super Cups, all national records. Al-Zawraa also won the Iraqi Elite Cup a joint-record 3 times.
