October Noir
October Noir is a gothic/ doom metal band formed in Pensacola, Florida in 2016. They have released 3 full-length albums and 9 stand-alone singles. Background October Noir was started by Tom Noir in late 2016 and released the first album, ''The Haunting and the Powerful'', on October 19, 2017. Drummer Daniel "Stickz" Bryant, guitarist Troy Lambert, and keyboardist Jackie "Jaxxx" Daniel would join Tom for live shows after the first album came out. In 2018, October Noir would release two singles, both being covers. "Pictures of Matchstick Men (RIPeter)", a Status Quo/Type O Negative cover, was released on April 14, 2018, and " Lips like Sugar", an Echo & the Bunnymen cover, was released on July 5, 2018. On October 1, 2019, their second album, ''Thirteen'', was released. Seven days later, guitarist Doug Lane and keyboardist Justin Thompson joined the band, completing the quartet. "Crimson and Clover" is a 1968 song by American rock band Tommy James and the Shondells. Written by the duo of Tommy James and drummer Peter Lucia Jr., it was intended as a change in direction of the group's sound and composition. "Crimson and Clover" was released in late 1968 as a rough mix after a radio station leaked it. It spent 16 weeks on the U.S. charts, reaching number one in the United States (in February 1969) and four other countries. The single has sold 5 million copies, making it Tommy James and the Shondells' best-selling song. (The RIAA did not award a gold record, so the 5 million sales number is not officially acknowledged.) ''Retaliation'' is the second and final album by American crossover thrash band Carnivore. It was released in 1987 by Roadrunner Records and later released on CD in 1991 without tracks 4 and 9. It was re-issued with a different cover on January 23, 2001, containing three demo tracks from the previous album. Petrus Thomas Ratajczyk (January 4, 1962 – April 14, 2010), known professionally as Peter Steele, was an American musician, singer, and songwriter. He was best known as the lead vocalist, bassist and composer of the gothic metal band Type O Negative. Before forming Type O Negative, Steele had created the metal group Fallout and the thrash band Carnivore.
