Yvette Carmen Mimieux (January 8, 1942 – January 18, 2022) was an American film and television actress. Her breakout role was in '' The Time Machine'' (1960). She was nominated for three Golden Globe Awards during her acting career. Early life and career Mimieux was born in Los Angeles, California, on January 8, 1942, to René Mimieux, who was French, and Maria Montemayor, who was Mexican. Mimieux had at least two siblings, a sister, Gloria, and a brother Edouardo. Her career was launched after a talent manager, Jim Byron, suggested she become an actress. Her first acting appearances were in episodes of the television shows '' Yancy Derringer'' and ''One Step Beyond'', both in 1959, at the age of 17. MGM Mimieux appeared in George Pal's film version of H. G. Wells's 1895 novel '' The Time Machine'' (1960) starring Rod Taylor, in which she played the character Weena. Simon MacCorkindale
Simon Charles Pendered MacCorkindale (12 February 1952 – 14 October 2010) was a British actor, film director, writer and producer. He spent much of his childhood moving around owing to his father's career as an officer with the Royal Air Force. Poor eyesight prevented him from following a similar career in the RAF, so he instead planned to become a theatre director. Training at Studio 68 of Theatre Arts in London, he started work as an actor, making his West End debut in 1974. He went on to appear in numerous roles in television, including the series ''I, Claudius'' and ''Jesus of Nazareth'', before starring as Simon Doyle in the film ''Death on the Nile'' (1978). This proved to be a breakthrough role and allowed him to move to the United States. He appeared in a variety of films and TV series including ''Quatermass'' (1979), ''The Riddle of the Sands'' (1979), '' The Sword and the Sorcerer'' (1982) and ''Jaws 3-D'' (1983). John Hinckley
John Warnock Hinckley Jr. (born May 29, 1955) is an American man who attempted to assassinate U.S. President Ronald Reagan in Washington, D.C. on March 30, 1981, two months after Reagan's first inauguration. Using a .22 caliber revolver, Hinckley wounded Reagan, police officer Thomas Delahanty, and Secret Service agent Tim McCarthy. He critically wounded White House Press Secretary James Brady, who was left permanently disabled in the shooting. Hinckley was reportedly seeking fame to impress actress Jodie Foster, with whom he had an obsessive fixation.
