Oaklands Park, South Australia
Oaklands Park is a southern suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of Marion. The Marion Shopping Centre is a major feature of the suburb. History On 14 December 1906, Oaklands was bought by Thomas Currie Tait for £15,000. In 1923 Tait offered 'The Park' (from the corner of Marion and Oaklands Roads to the homestead) to the South Australian Government for £100 an acre. When the offer was not accepted, Hamiltons acquired the vineyard and in September 1923, W. Pethick " Sons, vignerons and orchardists, bought the homestead. The remaining land, about , was secured by T.M. Burke Pty Ltd, for £23,000, for building allotments. The portion of Oaklands which became the site of the Warradale Army Camp in both World Wars, was acquired from the State on 26 July 1945 for £24,020. Electoral District Of Gibson
Gibson is a single-member electoral district for the South Australian House of Assembly. It was created by the redistribution conducted in 2016, and was contested for the first time at the 2018 state election. It replaced the former seat of Bright. Gibson lies southwest of the Adelaide city centre and includes the suburbs of Brighton, Dover Gardens, Hove, Marion, North Brighton, Oaklands Park, Seacombe Gardens, South Brighton, Sturt, Warradale and the southern portion of Somerton Park. Noarlunga Centre is a suburb in the City of Onkaparinga in the southern suburbs of Adelaide, South Australia. The suburb is mostly commercial, being dominated by the Centro Colonnades shopping centre and the small 'Inspire Noarlunga' estate to the east of Goldsmith Road. The suburb is bordered by Beach Road to the north, Dyson Road to the west Goldsmith Road to the south and the Southern Expressway to the east. Hallett Cove is a coastal suburb of Adelaide, South Australia located in the City of Marion south of the Adelaide city centre. It has a population of more than 12,000 people. Adjoining suburbs are Marino to the north, Trott Park and Sheidow Park to the east and Lonsdale to the south. The name Kareildung has been mistakenly ascribed to Hallett Cove as an Indigenous name. The South Australia Aquatic and Leisure Centre (SAALC), also known as the State Aquatic Centre, is a swimming venue located in the Adelaide suburb of Oaklands Park in South Australia. The centre is managed by the YMCA on behalf of the Government of South Australia.
