Otley Run
The Otley Run is a pub crawl in Leeds, West Yorkshire. The popular route covers Far Headingley, Headingley and Hyde Park areas and commonly continues towards Leeds City Centre. Otley Run is seen as a rite of passage for students studying at Leeds' universities and its modern route features in a London Underground style pub map of Leeds designed by former graphic design student Steve Lovell. Participants now often wear fancy dress, coordinating their costumes to a particular theme. Popularity and participation As a recurring event in Freshers' Week, Otley Road pub crawls serve to introduce incoming students at The University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University (originally Leeds Polytechnic) to Leeds' residences and campus locations. These are also a popular social gathering for student clubs and societies throughout the year and have been adopted by Leeds College of Music, Leeds Arts University, and Leeds Trinity University. Lawnswood School
Lawnswood School is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in the Lawnswood area of Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. The school was founded in 1972 and had its first comprehensive intake in 1974. Its predecessors were the Leeds Modern School, a boys' grammar school (founded 1845) attended by Alan Bennett, and Lawnswood High School for Girls, a girls' grammar school (founded 1854), which moved to the current Lawnswood site in 1932. Bodington Hall
Bodington Hall was the largest hall of residence of the University of Leeds, in Leeds, England. It was opened in 1961 and closed in 2013. The site still contains the university's main playing fields. Rags are student-run charitable fundraising organisations that are widespread in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Some are run as student societies whilst others sit with campaigns within their student unions. Most universities in the UK and Ireland, as well as some in the Netherlands and the Commonwealth of Nations, Commonwealth countries of South Africa and Singapore have a rag. Prince Henry's Grammar School (a specialist language college), also known as Prince Henry's or PHGS, is a co-educational comprehensive secondary school and sixth form established in 1607 in the market town of Otley, West Yorkshire, England. Horsforth School is a science specialist secondary school with academy status in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England. Opened in 1972 and located in Horsforth, it educates around 1,500 boys and girls, aged 11 to 18. It gained Special Science status in 2002.
