Orem Utah Temple
The Orem Utah Temple is a temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints under construction in Orem, Utah. Plans to construct a temple in Orem were announced on October 5, 2019 by church president Russell M. Nelson, during the Saturday Women's Session of General Conference. The Orem Utah Temple will be the first in the city of Orem, the sixth in Utah County and the 22nd in the state of Utah. On December 11, 2019, the church announced it would be built on a 16-acre site owned by the church. The site is south of the University Parkway exit of Interstate 15 on Geneva Road, near the Orem UTA Frontrunner station. Plans for the temple indicated that it will be a three-story, 70,000 square foot building. The church also anticipates construction of a 20,000 square foot meetinghouse on the same property. Area (LDS Church)
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), an area is an administrative unit that typically is composed of multiple stakes and missions. These areas are the primary church administrative unit between individual stakes or missions and the church as a whole. History The areas as they now exist were formed in January 1984. Prior to that time, general authorities served as "area supervisors" and at times resided outside of Salt Lake City. In 1984, 13 initial areas were created; by 1992 there were 22, and by early 2007 there were 31. As of April 2022, there are 23 areas. The Church News
The ''Church News'' (or ''LDS Church News'') is a weekly tabloid-sized supplement to the ''Deseret News'' and the ''MormonTimes'', a Salt Lake City, Utah newspaper owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). It is the only publication by the LDS Church that is entirely devoted to news coverage of the LDS Church. KSTU
KSTU (channel 13) is a television station in Salt Lake City, Utah, United States, affiliated with the Fox network. It is owned by the E. W. Scripps Company alongside Provo-licensed Ion Television owned-and-operated station KUPX-TV (channel 16). KSTU's studios are located on West Amelia Earhart Drive in the northwestern section of Salt Lake City, and its transmitter is located on Farnsworth Peak in the Oquirrh Mountains, southwest of Salt Lake City. More than 80 dependent translators carry its signal throughout Utah and portions of neighboring states. KSTU went on the air in 1978 as the first modern independent station in Salt Lake City. Orem Central Station
Orem Central station is an intermodal transportation station in Orem, Utah. It is served by the Utah Transit Authority's (UTA) ''FrontRunner'' train, which operates along the Wasatch Front with service from Ogden to Provo. Local bus lines and the Utah Valley Express also service the station. The station is also referred to as Orem Intermodal Center, Orem Central Station, or Orem CRST by UTA. It is part of the ''FrontRunner'' South extension. Description The station is located at 900 South 1350 West, with access from I-15 by way of the University Parkway ( SR-265). The majority of the Utah Valley University main campus is located on the opposites side of I-15. The station has a Park and Ride lot with nearly 500 free parking spaces available. Temple (LDS Church)
In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church), a temple is a building dedicated to be a House of the Lord. Temples are considered by church members to be the most sacred structures on earth. Upon completion, temples are usually open to the public for a short period of time (an "open house"). During the open house, the church conducts tours of the temple with missionaries and members from the local area serving as tour guides, and all rooms of the temple are open to the public. The temple is then dedicated as a "House of the Lord", after which only members who are deemed worthy are permitted entrance. Temples are not churches or meetinghouses designated for public weekly worship services, but rather are places of worship open only to the faithful where certain rites of the church must be performed.
