Sabah (newspaper)
''Sabah'' is a Turkish daily newspaper, with a circulation of around 330,000 as of 2011. Its name means "morning" in Turkish language, Turkish. The newspaper was founded in İzmir by Dinç Bilgin on 22 April 1985. In 2007, the government of Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan seized the newspaper, citing a legal document that had not been disclosed to authorities when ''Sabah'' was sold in 2001. Ownership of the newspaper was given to the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey. Some of the newspaper's staffers were fired, and the paper was then sold to the Turkuvaz Media Group belonging to Çalık Holding whose CEO, Berat Albayrak, is the son-in-law of Erdoğan and whose chairman, Ahmet Çalık, has been described as a "close associate" of Erdoğan. Hüdai Oral
Arif Hüdai Oral (1925 – 13 February 2005) was a Turkish lawyer, politician and former government minister. Life Hüdai Oral was born in Buldan district of Denizli in 1925. After completing the Law school of Istanbul University, he served as an attorney in Denizli. During his university studies he was a member of the Turkish National Student Union. Oral was married to Perihan Oral, and was father of a daughter Tansu and a son Teoman. He died on 13 February 2005 in Denizli due to respiratory syndrome. Political life Hüdai Oral joined the Republican People's Party (CHP) and was elected a deputy from Denizli Province entering the 12th Parliament of Turkey on 15 October 1961. Zeynep Birsel Oral (born 15 February 1946) is a Turkish journalist. She is also a writer, theatre critic and a cultural editor. Life Zeynep Birsel was born in Istanbul, Turkey, on 15 February 1946. She graduated from the American Collegiate Institute in İzmir. She also studied in École supérieure de journalisme de Paris in Paris, France, in 1966, and at the L'Institut des Etudes Théâtrales of Sorbonne University during 1964–1967. Sümer Oral (born 27 February 1938) is a Turkish politician who served as the minister of social security and minister of finance and customs. He was also a member of the Parliament. Early life and education Oral was born in İzmir on 27 February 1938. His father was Ahmet Nazif Oral. Oral graduated from İzmir Atatürk High School in 1957 and obtained a degree in economics from Istanbul University in 1961. He attended a training program at l’OCDE in Paris between 1969 and 1970. Uğur Orel Oral (born September 26, 1979) is a Turkish former swimmer, who specialized in individual medley events. He is a two-time Olympian (2000 and 2004), and a seven-time NCAA Division II national champion while studying in the United States. He is also named Swimmer of the Year in Turkey in 2003 and 2004, and holds 15 Turkish records in the same stroke.
