This is an overview of software support for the Office Open XML format, a document file format for saving and exchanging editable office documents. The list here is not exhaustive. Document File Format
A document file format is a Text file, text or binary file format for storing documents on a computer storage, storage media, especially for use by computers. There currently exists a multitude of incompatible document file formats. Examples of XML-based open format, open standards are DocBook, XHTML, and, more recently, the International Organization for Standardization, ISO/International Electrotechnical Commission, IEC standards OpenDocument (ISO 26300:2006) and Office Open XML (ISO 29500:2008). In 1993, the ITU-T tried to establish a standard for document file formats, known as the Open Document Architecture (ODA) which was supposed to replace all competing document file formats. It is described in ITU-T documents T.411 through T.421, which are equivalent to ISO 8613. It did not succeed. Ichitaro (word Processor)
is a Japanese word processor produced by JustSystems, a Japanese software company. Ichitaro occupies the second share in Japanese word-processing software, behind Microsoft Word. It is one of the main products of the company. Its proprietary file extension is ".JTD". ATOK, an IME developed by JustSystems, is bundled with Ichitaro. In the DOS era, Ichitaro had a considerable market share along with other rivals. However, as Windows became dominant, the market was largely taken over by Microsoft Word. Origin of name "" was named by , a founder of JustSystems. When he worked part-time as a tutor, one of his learners' names was Taro. He died of sickness when Kazunori worked at the company. is a Japanese software development house. The company's main products were a word processor, Ichitaro (word processor), Ichitaro ("JohnnyOne"), a Japanese input method, ATOK. Jarte
Jarte is a word processor for users of Microsoft Windows, based on the WordPad engine, produced by Carolina Road Software. In terms of market appeal, Jarte is a lighter alternative to the feature laden Microsoft Word. The standard version of Jarte is offered free of charge, while a Jarte Plus, originally a paid enhanced version, has also been made free. The (formerly) purchasable version offers a variety of extra features, including Auto-Correct and Auto-Outline. In most other respects, Jarte Plus is the same as the freeware version. IBM Lotus Symphony
IBM Lotus Symphony is a discontinued software suite, suite of applications for creating, editing, and sharing text, spreadsheet, presentations, and other documents and Web browser, browsing the World Wide Web. It was first distributed as commercial proprietary software, then as freeware, before IBM contributed the suite to the Apache Software Foundation in 2014 for inclusion in the Free and open-source software, free and open-source Apache OpenOffice software suite. First released in 2007, the suite has a name similar to the 1980s DOS Lotus Symphony (DOS), Lotus Symphony suite, but the two software suites are otherwise unrelated.
