Opaque Predicate
In computer programming, an opaque predicate is a predicate, an expression that evaluates to either "true" or "false", for which the outcome is known by the programmer ''a priori'', but which, for a variety of reasons, still needs to be evaluated at run time. Opaque predicates have been used as watermarks, as they will be identifiable in a program's executable. They can also be used to prevent an overzealous optimizer from optimizing away a portion of a program. Predicate (mathematical Logic)
In logic, a predicate is a symbol that represents a property or a relation. For instance, in the first-order formula P(a), the symbol P is a predicate that applies to the individual constant a. Similarly, in the formula R(a,b), the symbol R is a predicate that applies to the individual constants a and b. According to Gottlob Frege, the meaning of a predicate is exactly a function from the domain of objects to the truth values "true" and "false". In the semantics of logic, predicates are interpreted as relations. For instance, in a standard semantics for first-order logic, the formula R(a,b) would be true on an interpretation if the entities denoted by a and b stand in the relation denoted by R. Execution in computer and software engineering is the process by which a computer or virtual machine interprets and acts on the instructions of a computer program. Watermark
A watermark is an identifying image or pattern in paper that appears as various shades of lightness/darkness when viewed by transmitted light (or when viewed by reflected light, atop a dark background), caused by thickness or density variations in the paper. Watermarks have been used on postage stamps, currency, and other government documents to discourage counterfeiting. There are two main ways of producing watermarks in paper; the ''dandy roll process'', and the more complex ''cylinder mould process''. In software development, obfuscation is the practice of creating source or machine code that is intentionally difficult for humans or computers to understand.
