Onni Happonen
Onni Happonen (21 May 1898 – 1 September 1930) was a Finnish politician representing the Social Democratic Party of Finland. He was kidnapped and murdered by the fascist Lapua Movement. Happonen was born in Pölläkkä, Heinävesi, Southern Savonia. He was a construction entrepreneur and the chairman of the Heinävesi municipal council. As a politician, Happonen often argued with local landowners who were supporters or members of the Lapua Movement and the paramilitary right-wing White Guard. Together with the Ståhlberg kidnapping, the Peasant March and the Mäntsälä rebellion, the Happonen murder is one of the major incidents involving the Lapua Movement. Death Happonen had already been kidnapped and beaten in July 1930. Instead of the police, Happonen contacted the Governor Albin Pulkkinen who ordered his protection. Onni Suutari (born 29 April 2003) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a forward for Ykkönen club OLS. Club career OLS Born in Raahe, Suutari started playing football with a local club FC Raahe. He moved to Oulu in 2018 to join Oulun Luistinseura (OLS) youth sector in AC Oulu organisation, and made his senior debut with the reserve team OLS in the third-tier Kakkonen in 2020. Onni Johannes Simonpoika Valakari (born 18 August 1999) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder for Major League Soccer club San Diego, on loan from Pafos, and the Finland national team. Club career Valakari started to play football in the youth sector of Käpylän Pallo (KäPa) in 2007. Onni Jalmari Tiihonen (born 6 June 2000) is a Finnish professional footballer who plays as a central midfielder for Veikkausliiga club AC Oulu. Club career Tiihonen started his senior career with IF Gnistan in 2018. He played with the club in the third-tier Kakkonen and in the second-tier Ykkönen after the promotion. Tiihonen was loaned out to his former youth club PKKU in 2020. After a short stint with AB Argir in the Faroe Islands Premier League in 2022, Tiihonen moved to Romania. Wolmar Onni Schildt (3 July 1851 – 23 April 1913) was a Finnish politician. Onni Alfred Hiltunen (26 November 1895 – 8 June 1971) was a Finnish politician, minister in several cabinets and chairman of the Social Democratic Party. Hiltunen was born in Jyväskylä. Onni Palaste, born Onni Bovellan (27 December 1917 - 1 July 2009) was a Finnish Winter War veteran and writer. Onni Bovellan was born in Kiuruvesi, Finland on 27 December 1917 to parents Joona Bovellan and Olga Miina Kärkkäinen. He was a frail child and was not originally expected to live long. However, he survived and became healthy. After finishing school, Bovellan went to work in a sawmill. In the Winter War, Bovellan fought in Colonel Hjalmar Siilasvuo's troops. He led many successful patrols to Soviet territory and was awarded the Iron Cross. After the Winter War, Onni Bovellan changed his surname to Palaste. He worked as director of the Vuokatti sports academy and also met his wife Kerttu Klemetti. Onni Palaste started writing factual, but slightly dramatised novels about the Winter War in 1967.
