Oleh Meidych
Oleh Leonidovych Meidych (; born 24 November 1970) is a Ukrainian businessman and politician currently serving as a People's Deputy of Ukraine from Ukraine's 18th electoral district, representing north-eastern Vinnytsia Oblast. Biography Meidych is director of Kalinov Dairy Plant Ltd. In 2002 and 2010, he ran for the Vinnytsia Oblast Council, both times unsuccessfully. Meidich worked as an assistant to People's Deputy . From 2015, Meidych was a member of the Vinnytsia Oblast Council, serving as head of the Batkivshchyna party in the council, as well as a member of the Standing Committee on Regulation of Communal Property and Privatization. He was a proxy candidate of Yulia Tymoshenko in the 2019 Ukrainian presidential election. Kalynivka, Vinnytsia Oblast
Kalynivka (, ; ; ) is a city in Vinnytsia Oblast, Ukraine. Kalynivka served as the administrative center of the former Kalynivka Raion until 2020. It has a population of History The Jewish population was important in the town. During World War II, the Germans occupied the town and kept the Jews prisoners in a ghetto. In May 1942, hundreds of Jews were murdered in mass executions perpetrated by an Einsatzgruppe. 2017 munitions explosion On 26 September 2017, at about 10:00 pm (19:00 UTC), the munitions depot for the Ukrainian Army, just south of the town, blew up causing extensive damage to nearby houses and other buildings. 2019 Ukrainian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Ukraine on 21 July 2019. Originally scheduled to be held at the end of October, the elections were brought forward after newly inaugurated President of Ukraine, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dissolved parliament on 21 May 2019, during his inauguration. The elections resulted in an outright majority, a novelty in Ukraine, for Zelenskyy's Servant of the People party, which won 254 seats. About 80 percent of the elected candidates were new to parliament, while 83 deputies were re-elected from 8th Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada, the previous parliament and 13 deputies from earlier convocations. 2019 Ukrainian Presidential Election
Presidential elections were held in Ukraine on 31 March 2019. As none of the 39 candidates on the ballot received an absolute majority of the initial vote, a runoff was held on 21 April between the top two vote-getters: Volodymyr Zelenskyy, a television personality, and Petro Poroshenko, the incumbent president. The Central Election Commission (Ukraine), Central Election Commission (CEC) announced that Zelenskyy won the second round with 73.22% of the total vote (or 74.96% of the valid vote).
