ObZen Tour
The obZen World Tour was a concert tour by Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah, in support of the band's sixth studio album ''obZen''. It is the biggest tour the band has done to date; and the band travelled to places around the world they had previously not performed in. In 2009, Meshuggah returned to North America on a tour with Cynic and The Faceless. The '' Alive'' concert film was produced during the tour. History In 2007, Meshuggah returned to the studio to record their sixth album, ''obZen'', which was released in March 2008. The band spent almost a year on the album; their longest recording session yet. A significant portion of the year was spent learning to perform the songs they wrote; the recording itself took six months. ''obZen'' reached number 59 on the ''Billboard'' Top 200 chart and sold 11,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release, and 50,000 copies after six months. Meshuggah
Meshuggah () is a Swedish extreme metal band formed in Umeå in 1987. Since 2004, the band's lineup consists of founding members Jens Kidman (lead vocals) and Fredrik Thordendal (lead guitar), alongside rhythm guitarist Mårten Hagström, drummer Tomas Haake and bassist Dick Lövgren. Since its formation, the band has released nine studio albums, six extended play, EPs and eight music videos. Their latest studio album, ''Immutable (album), Immutable'', was released in April 2022 via Atomic Fire, Atomic Fire Records. Meshuggah has become known for their innovative musical style and their complex, Meter (music)#Polymeter, polymetered song structures and polyrhythms. Marquee Theatre (originally known as the Red River Opry or the Red River Music Hall) is a music venue in Tempe, Arizona. The theater sits on the north side of Tempe Town Lake near the Mill Avenue Bridge, at the intersection of Mill Avenue and Washington Street, the primary business and entertainment district in Tempe.
