Oakridge Park
Oakridge Park (formerly known as Oakridge Centre) is a shopping centre in development at the Oakridge neighbourhood in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. It is located at the intersection of West 41st Avenue and Cambie Street. It was originally opened in 1959 by Woodward's Stores which anchored the centre until it was sold to Hudson's Bay in 1993. A Target was originally planned but in 2015 Target Canada filed for bankruptcy protection and announced the closing of all stores. It is one of the two largest malls within the city of Vancouver, the other being CF Pacific Centre, and along with Pacific Centre are two of the most profitable shopping centres in Canada. Target Canada
Target Canada Co. was a short-lived Canadian subsidiary of the Target Corporation, the eighth-largest retailer in the United States. Formerly headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, the subsidiary formed with the acquisition of Zellers store leases from the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC) in January 2011. Target Canada opened its first store in March 2013, and by January 2015 was operating 133 locations throughout Canada. Its main competition included Walmart Canada, Loblaws, Shoppers Drug Mart, and Canadian Tire. Adamson Associates is a Toronto-based architectural firm founded in 1934. It also has affiliated offices in Vancouver, Los Angeles (Adamson Associates, Inc.), New York City, New York (AAI Architects, P.C.) and London (Adamson Associates [International] Limited). Gordon Adamson, Gordon Sinclair Adamson (1904-1986) started the firm in 1934 after working for a number of other architects (F. Pacific Centre (officially CF Pacific Centre since 2015) is a shopping mall located in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Hudson's Bay, also known as The Bay, was a Canadian department store chain. It served as the flagship brand of the Hudson's Bay Company (HBC), the oldest and longest-surviving company in North America as well as one of the oldest and largest continuously operating companies in the world. Founded on 2 May 1670, the Hudson's Bay Company opened its first department store in 1881 in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
