O Mur Apunar Desh () is the state and traditional song of Assam, India. It was written by Lakshminath Bezbarua and the tune was made by Kamala Prasad Agarwala. It was first published in 1909 in an Assamese magazine named ''Bahi'' ("flute"). It was adopted as the Assam's state song in 1927 at ''asom chatrô sônmilôn'' ("Assam Student Conference") held in Tezpur, and was officially adopted by the state government on 15 December 2013. This song is also used as the anthem of the secessionist, United Liberation Front of Asom, as an anthem for a sovereign Assam. The song was translated to Mising by Tabu Taid. Lakshminath Bezbarua
Lakshminath Bezbarua (; 14 October 1864 - March 26,1938) was an Indian poet, novelist and playwright of modern Assamese literature. Commonly known as the father of the Assamese short story. He was one of the literary stalwarts of the Jonaki Era, the age of romanticism in Assamese literature; with his essays, plays, fiction, poetry and satires, he gave a new impetus to the then stagnating Assamese literary caravan. He responded to the prevailing social environment through his satirical works to bring and sustain positive changes to the former. His literature reflected the deeper urges of the people of Assam. United Liberation Front Of Asom
The United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA) is an armed separatist insurgent organisation, that operates in the Indian state of Assam. It seeks to establish an independent sovereign nation state of Assam for the indigenous Assamese people through an armed struggle via the Assam conflict. The Government of India banned the organisation and designated it as an terrorist organisation in 1990, while the United States Department of State lists it under "other groups of concern". According to ULFA sources, it was founded on 7 April 1979 at Rang Ghar and began operations in 1990. Early life and education Tabu Taid was born on 1 August 1942 in a geographically remote and economically challenged village ''Ghunasuti Ayengia'' in Lakhimpur district of Assam, India.
