Numb (band)
Numb is a Canadian electro-industrial band that is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. History Numb was founded by Don Gordon, David Hall and Sean Stubbs in 1986. The band issued their self-titled debut studio album '' Numb'' in 1987 on Edge and World Records. Their second album Christmeister'' was released by Lively Art in 1989. The band's third album ''Death on the Installment Plan'', released in 1993, featured weird electronic tape-loops overlaid with heavily distorted vocals. The 1994 album '' Wasted Sky'' used some of the same techniques, but with a darker feel and more technically varied approach. Sean Stubbs
Sean R. Stubbs is a Canadians, Canadian musician. He has served as the drummer in the industrial rock bands Numb (band), Numb and Jakalope, and the punk rock band SNFU. He has also been a member of alternative rock singer-songwriter Bif Naked's band. Christmeister
''Christmeister'' is the second studio album by Numb, released in 1989 by Lively Art. The album was re-issued in August 1990 by Oceana Records. Reception Allmusic awarded ''Christmeister'' four and a half out of five possible stars. A critic for ''High Fidelity News and Record Review'' noted the complexity of the work, stating "the bass and percussion are kept busy throughout, forming a foundation for all manner of thrash-csquc touches - but it's too deliberate and 'crafted' to be written off as merely anarchic." ''Sonic Boom'' praised the album and said "there always seems to be as much going on in the foreground as there is in the background, which gives this album the illusion that it actually contains more music than it should." Push It (Salt-n-Pepa Song)
"Push It" is a song by American hip hop group Salt-N-Pepa. It was released as the B-side of the "Tramp" single in 1987. It peaked at number 19 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 in early 1988 and, after initially peaking at number 41 in the UK, it re-entered the charts after the group performed the track at Nelson Mandela's 70th birthday concert, eventually peaking at number two in the UK in July 1988. The song has also been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The song is ranked number 446 on ''Rolling Stone''s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and was ranked number nine on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop. WestCom (full name: WestCom Neue Medien Tonträger- Produktions- und Vertriebs GmbH) was a German recording company that operated the labels Off Beat, Visage Records and other labels. Company history Founded around 1993. In addition to WestCom, its owner also operates NovaTekk and Euromedia. Headquartered in Gelsenkirchen, Germany. In 1999 Stefan Herwig, A&R manager at Off Beat, left the company over differences in promotion, to join forces with Eskil Simonsson (Covenant), Johan Van Roy ( Suicide Commando), Bryan Erickson (Velvet Acid Christ) and Ronan Harris (VNV Nation) to form a new label, dependent (which opened January 1999). ''Fixate'' is an EP by Numb, released in 1993 by KK Records. The EP contains a different version of "Ratblast" performed at double tempo, which normally how the band performed the song live.
