''ITV News Tyne Tees'' is a British television news service produced by ITV Tyne Tees & Border and broadcasting to the “ Tyne Tees” region. Overview The news service is produced and broadcast from studios at The Watermark, Gateshead with reporters also based at a Teesside office in Billingham. Both regional services (I.e ‘’ITV News Tyne Tees’’ and ‘’Lookaround’’) utilise exactly the same presenter(s) and studio/set, therefore one of the two programmes - depending on the day's news - is pre-recorded 'as live' shortly before broadcast. Between 2009 and 2013, the two regions were merged into a single region (although still with two franchises). Since 2013, each region receives its own regional service, but both services use the same studios and presenters. Northumberland
Northumberland () is a county in Northern England, one of two counties in England which border with Scotland. ITV Border
ITV Border, previously Border Television and commonly referred to as simply Border, is the Channel 3 service provided by ITV Broadcasting Limited for the England/Scotland border region, covering most of Cumbria, Dumfries and Galloway, the Scottish Borders and parts of Northumberland. The TV service previously covered the Isle of Man from 26 March 1965 until 15 July 2009. Bilsdale Transmitting Station
The Bilsdale transmitting station is a broadcasting and telecommunications facility, located at Bilsdale West Moor above Bilsdale, close to Helmsley, North Yorkshire, England. The original facility included a guyed steel tubular mast that was primarily used for radio and television transmission. The height of the mast was to the pinnacle. Until a fire disabled the transmitter on 10 August 2021 it was among the most powerful transmitters in the UK. The power for analogue was 500 kW ERP and it was 100 kW / 50 kW for digital. The mast was equipped with aircraft warning lights, in the form of arrays of red LEDs. The station was owned and operated by Arqiva. Tees Valley is a mayoral combined authority and Local enterprise partnership area in northern England, around the River Tees. The area is not a geographical valley. The LEP was established in 2011 and the combined authority was established in 2016, the latter after public consultation in 2015. The area covers five council areas: Darlington, Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland and Stockton-on-Tees. Pontop Pike Television Transmitter
The Pontop Pike transmitting station is a facility for telecommunications and broadcasting situated on a 312-metre (1,024-ft) high hill of the same name between Stanley and Consett, County Durham, near the village of Dipton, England. The mast is high, giving an average antenna height of above sea level. It is owned and operated by Arqiva. Mike Neville (newsreader)
Michael Neville, MBE (born James Armstrong Briggs, 17 October 1936 – 6 September 2017) was a British broadcaster, best known as a presenter on regional TV news in North East England. In a 43-year career with the BBC and ITV franchisee Tyne Tees Television. In 1990, Neville was awarded the MBE for services to broadcasting. Early life Born as James Armstrong Briggs in Willington Quay, North Tyneside on 17 October 1936 – to James Briggs, a labourer, and Mary – he attended the Addison Potter Infant and Junior School in Willington Quay and Stephenson Memorial Secondary School in Howdon. His first job at the age of 15 was at the Northern Guild of Commerce and Chamber of Trade. He was subsequently a junior editorial assistant at the ''Daily Mail''s Newcastle offices. Pamela “Pam” June Royle (born 30 June 1958) is a British television journalist and presenter. Biography Royle was born in Leicester, Leicestershire and was brought up mostly in North Yorkshire, but also in South Africa and Devon. After graduating with a joint honours degree in English Language and Literature from Newcastle University she taught English and Drama at a Chinese girls' school in Hong Kong.
