North American, Central American And Caribbean Athletic Association
The North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC) is the continental confederation governing body of athletics for national governing bodies and multi-national federations within Northern America, Central America, and the Caribbean. NACAC is one of six area associations of World Athletics (WA), previously named the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF). NACAC was founded on December 10, 1988, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, San Juan, Puerto Rico. Presidents Amadeo Francis of Puerto Rico was elected as the first president of the association. He was re-elected in 1999 and 2003. In 2007 Neville "Teddy" McCook (Jamaica) was elected as new president and was re-elected in 2011. After McCook died on February 11, 2013, Alain Jean-Pierre from Haiti, treasurer of NACAC and president of the Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation (CACAC), acted as interim president. Central American And Caribbean Championships
The Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Championships is an international track and field athletics event organised by the Central American and Caribbean Athletic Confederation (CACAC). Only athletes representing a member nation of the confederation may compete. Started in 1967, the event has been held every two years except for the 2007 edition which was held in 2008 instead. Pan American Combined Events Cup
The Pan American Combined Events Cup (''Spanish: Copa Panamericana de Pruebas Combinadas'') is a track and field competition in men's decathlon and women's heptathlon. Organized by the Association of Panamerican Athletics (APA), newly constituted in 2011, it is an annual contest for combined events athletes representing countries in the region. It is typically held in late May or June. The competition was launched in 2005 as part of the IAAF Combined Events Challenge as NACAC Combined Events Championships, and was initially organized by the North American, Central American and Caribbean Athletic Association (NACAC), with the first edition taking place in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The NACAC Mountain Running Championships is an annual Mountain running competition organized by NACAC for athletes representing the countries of its member associations. Until 2012, only the participation of athletes from Canada, Mexico, and the United States was reported. The event was established in 2004.
