Anna Norrie
Anna Hilda Charlotta Norrie née Petterson (1860–1957) was a Swedish actress and operetta singer. After training under Julius Günther at the Sockholm Conservatory, she took singing lessons with Fritz Arlberg. She was engaged by the Nya teatern in 1882 where she performed leading operetta roles. But it was not until 1887 at the Vasa Teatern that she reached her peak, gaining popularity as ''La belle Hélène'' or ''Le petit duc''. Until her retirement in 1920, she was acclaimed as the operetta prima donna of the North, singing on tour in Helsinki, Bremen, Leipzig, Hannover and Berlin. During the First World War years, she moved to Copenhagen where she ran the literary cabaret Edderkoppen which closed in 1919. Norrie Disease
Norrie disease is a rare disease and genetic disorder that primarily affects the eyes and almost always leads to blindness. It is caused by mutations in the ''Norrin cystine knot growth factor (NDP)'' gene, which is located on the X chromosome. In addition to the congenital ocular symptoms, the majority of patients experience a progressive hearing loss starting mostly in their 2nd decade of life, and some may have learning difficulties among other additional characteristics. Patients with Norrie disease may develop cataracts, leukocoria (where the pupils appear white when light is shone on them), along with other developmental issues in the eye, such as shrinking of the globe and the wasting away of the iris. Around 30 to 50% of them will also have developmental delay or learning difficulties, psychotic-like features, incoordination of movements or behavioral abnormalities. Norrie (also known as the Norrie Colony) is a census-designated place (CDP) located in and governed by Pitkin County, Colorado, United States. The population of the Norrie CDP was 7 at the United States Census 2020. The Meredith post office serves the area. The CDP is a part of the Glenwood Springs, CO Micropolitan Statistical Area. History Norrie was originally settled in the late 1880s. It began as a camp for railroad workers building the Colorado Midland Railway route along the Fryingpan River. Norman William Paramor (15 May 1914 – 9 September 1979), known professionally as Norrie Paramor, was a British record producer, composer, arranger, pianist, bandleader, and orchestral conductor. He is best known for his work with Cliff Richard and the Shadows, both together and separately, steering their early careers and producing and arranging most of their material from the late 1950s to the early 1970s. Paramor was a composer of studio albums, theatrical productions, and film scores. Norrie Muir
Norrie Muir (1948 – 12 April 2019) was a Scottish climber and prolific first ascentionist. Muir attended Waverley Senior Secondary School in Knightswood from 1961 to 1965, then served his apprenticeship as a ship draughtsman in John Brown's, Clydebank from 1965 to 1970. He was a member of the exclusive Creagh Dhu mountaineering club, and with Stevie Docherty and George Adam formed a group known as the "Steam Team". He was particularly active during the 1970s and 1980s, when he made over 30 first ascents in Scotland in both summer and winter. He made the first free ascent, and second overall ascent, of King Kong (E2) on Carn Dearg Buttress on Ben Nevis with "Big" Ian Nicholson in June 1970, and two days later the pair climbed Heidbanger (E1).
