Nicki Gross
Nicki Gross (born July 24, 1989) is an assistant for the Vanderbilt Commodores of the Southeastern Conference. Summer 2015 also saw Becky Hammon get hired by the NBA's San Antonio Spurs as an assistant coach, while Nancy Lieberman, the former D-League head coach and general manager of the Texas Legends, became an assistant coach for the NBA's Sacramento Kings. Early life and education A native of Emerson, New Jersey, Gross graduated from the Academy of Holy Angels in 2007. Gross played for Seton Hall's women's soccer team as a midfielder. In 2009, she was named Big East Player of the Week and earned MVP honors at the 2009 St. John's Tournament. Gross received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology. She then worked as a graduate manager for Monmouth University's men's basketball team during the 2012–2013 season while working on her MBA degree. Southeastern Conference
The Southeastern Conference (SEC) is an American college athletic conference whose member institutions are located primarily in the South Central and Southeastern United States. Its fourteen members include the flagship public universities of ten states, three additional public land-grant universities, and one private research university. NBA Development League
The NBA G League, or simply the G League, is the National Basketball Association's (NBA) official minor league basketball organization. The league was known as the National Basketball Development League (NBDL) from 2001 to 2005, and the NBA Development League (NBA D-League) from 2005 until 2017. The league started with eight teams until NBA commissioner David Stern announced a plan to expand the NBA D-League to 15 teams and develop it into a true minor league farm system, with each NBA D-League team affiliated with one or more NBA teams in March 2005. At the conclusion of the 2013–14 NBA season, 33% of NBA players had spent time in the NBA D-League, up from 23% in 2011.
