New Orleans Jesters
The New Orleans Jesters are an American soccer team based in New Orleans, Louisiana. Founded in 2003, the team plays in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid. Nicknamed 'The Jesters', they are coached by Kenny Farrell, play home games at Pan American Stadium, and their colors are purple, green, and white. History Early years The New Orleans Shell Shockers entered the USL Premier Development League (PDL) as an expansion franchise in 2003, playing at the George G. Westfeldt Facility at Tulane University. The team played their first season with the nickname the "Shell Shockers" which came from the team's sponsorship by the Shell Oil Company. Pan American Stadium (New Orleans)
Pan American Stadium is a 5,000 seat multi-purpose outdoor stadium, located in City Park, in New Orleans, Louisiana. It is used for soccer, American football, lacrosse and rugby. It is currently home to the New Orleans Jesters of the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL) and Motagua New Orleans of the Gulf Coast Premier League. The stadium also plays host to LHSAA football games and soccer matches. History In 2005, Hurricane Katrina flooded the stadium. It was renovated and re-opened in 2008. A FieldTurf playing surface was installed at the stadium, along with new bleachers, new press box, new scoreboard and renovated locker rooms. DFW Tornados (also known as Dallas–Fort Worth Tornados) was an American soccer team based in Dallas, Texas, United States. Founded in 1986, the team played in the USL Premier Development League (PDL), the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, in the Mid South Division of the Southern Conference. The franchise folded at the end of the 2010 season and left the league thereafter. The team played its home games at Pizza Hut Park (the home of Major League Soccer's FC Dallas) in nearby Frisco, Texas. The team's colors were black, blue and white. Lawrence Philip Sanchez (born 22 October 1959) is a Northern Irish football manager and former international footballer. The New England Revolution is an American professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area that competes in Major League Soccer (MLS), in the Eastern Conference of the league. It is one of the ten charter clubs of MLS, having competed in the league since its inaugural season. City Park, a public park in New Orleans, Louisiana, is the 87th largest and 20th-most-visited urban public park in the United States. Ian William Bishop (born 29 May 1965) is an English former professional footballer who played as a midfielder.
