Neukölln Am Wasser
Neukölln () is one of the twelve boroughs of Berlin. It is located in the southeastern part from the city centre towards Berlin Schönefeld Airport. It was part of the former American sector under the Four-Power occupation of the city. It features many Gründerzeit buildings and is characterized by having one of the highest percentage of immigrants in Berlin. In recent years an influx of students and creative types has led to gentrification. History Neukölln's independence ended on 1 October 1920 when it was incorporated into Berlin. In September 1929, Goebbels led his men into Neukölln, a KPD stronghold, and the two warring parties exchanged pistol and revolver fire. Cölln () was the twin city of Old Berlin ( Altberlin) from the 13th century to the 18th century. Cölln was located on the Fisher Island section of Spree Island, opposite Altberlin on the western bank of the River Spree, until the cities were merged by Frederick I of Prussia to form Berlin in 1710. Today, the former site of Cölln is the historic core of the modern Mitte locality of the Berlin-Mitte borough in central Berlin. The Berlin S-Bahn () is a rapid transit railway system in and around Berlin, the capital city of Germany. Berlin Hermannstraße is a railway station in the Neukölln district of Berlin. It is served by the S-Bahn lines , , , and and the U-Bahn line , of which it is the southern terminus. It was formerly also possible to transfer there to the Neukölln- Mittenwalde railway line, which is now only used for goods traffic. Berlin-Wittenau (in German S-Bahnhof Berlin-Wittenau, officially Wittenau (Wilhelmsruher Damm)) is a railway station in the Wittenau district of Berlin, Germany. U8 is a line on the Berlin U-Bahn. It has 24 stations and is long. The U8 is one of three north–south Berlin U-Bahn lines (U6, U9), and runs from Wittenau to Neukölln via Gesundbrunnen. Rathaus Spandau (Berlin U-Bahn)
Rathaus Spandau (Spandau Town Hall) is one of the western termini of Berlin U-Bahn line U7 (the other one being Rudow). U7 (Berlin)
The U7 is a rail line on the Berlin U-Bahn. It runs completely underground for a length of through 40 stations and connects Spandau, via Neukölln, to Gropiusstadt and Rudow.
