Netiv HaLamed-Heh
Netiv HaLamed-Heh ( he, נְתִיב הַל"ה, ''lit.'' Path of the 35) is a kibbutz in central Israel. Located in the Valley of Elah, it falls under the jurisdiction of Mateh Yehuda Regional Council. In it had a population of . History Netiv HaLamed-Heh was established on 16 August 1949 by demobilised soldiers on land that had belonged to the depopulated Palestinian village of Bayt Nattif. The soldiers had been members of the 4th Company of the Palmach's Harel Brigade, and the settlement was initially named Peled (an acronym for Pluga Daled, lit. ''Daled Company'', daled being the 4th letter of the Hebrew alphabet). Palmach
The Palmach (Hebrew: , acronym for , ''Plugot Maḥatz'', "Strike Companies") was the elite fighting force of the Haganah, the underground army of the Yishuv (Jewish community) during the period of the British Mandate for Palestine. The Palmach was established on 15 May 1941. By the outbreak of the 1948 Arab–Israeli War it consisted of over 2,000 men and women in three fighting brigades and auxiliary aerial, naval and intelligence units. With the creation of Israel's army, the three Palmach Brigades were disbanded. This and political reasons compelled many of the senior Palmach officers to resign in 1950. A kibbutz ( he, קִבּוּץ / , lit. "gathering, clustering"; plural: kibbutzim / ) is an intentional community in Israel that was traditionally based on agriculture. The first kibbutz, established in 1909, was Degania. Today, farming has been partly supplanted by other economic branches, including industrial plants and high-tech enterprises. Kibbutzim began as utopian communities, a combination of socialism and Zionism. In recent decades, some kibbutzim have been privatized and changes have been made in the communal lifestyle. Khirbet Qeiyafa
Khirbet Qeiyafa ( ar, خربة قيافة), also known as Elah Fortress and in Hebrew as Horbat Qayafa ( he, חורבת קייאפה), is the site of an ancient fortress city overlooking the Elah Valley and dated to the first half of the 10th century BCE. The ruins of the fortress were uncovered in 2007, near the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh, from Jerusalem. It covers nearly and is encircled by a 700-meter-long (2,300 ft) city wall constructed of stones weighing up to eight tons each. Excavations at site continued in subsequent years. Ya'akov Tzur
Ya'akov Tzur ( he, יעקב צור, born Ya'akov Steinberg on 4 April 1937) is a former Israeli politician who held several ministerial portfolios in the 1980s and 1990s. Biography Born in Haifa during the Mandate era, Tzur studied bible and history at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Between 1955 and 1957 he was part of the Yotvata settlement group, and in 1957 became a member of kibbutz Netiv HaLamed-Heh. Yiftah Ron-Tal ( he, יפתח רון-טל; born 1956) is the director of the Israel Electric Corporation, former head of the Israel Port Authority and former major general in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Vertigo (dance Company)
Vertigo is an Israeli modern dance company. It was established by Noa Wertheim and Adi Sha'al in Jerusalem in 1992. The company's first performance was a duet featuring Wertheim and Sha'al called Vertigo. Following the group's appearances in various festivals in Israel and around the world, Vertigo has received recognition, positive reviews, and several awards from professionals and local and international audiences. The group mainly presents works by Wertheim, but it also showcases pieces by independent choreographers from within and outside the company.
