Neil Edward Tiedemann
Neil Edward Tiedemann Congregation of the Passion, C.P. (born March 5, 1948) is an American prelate of the Latin Catholic Church, Roman Catholic Church serving as an auxiliary bishop for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, Diocese of Brooklyn since 2016. Biography On May 16, 1975, Tiedemann was ordained to the Priesthood in the Catholic Church, priesthood. Bishop of Mandeville Tiedemann served as the Roman Catholic Diocese of Mandeville, Bishop of Mandeville in Jamaica from 2008 to 2016. Auxiliary Bishop of Brooklyn Pope Francis appointed Tiedemann auxiliary bishop for the Diocese of Brooklyn on April 29, 2016, and was installed on August 4, 2016. Excellency is an honorific style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy. Once entitled to the title "Excellency", the holder usually retains the right to that courtesy throughout their lifetime, although in some cases the title is attached to a particular office, and is held only for the duration of that office. Gordon Dunlap Bennett, Society of Jesus, S.J. (born October 21, 1946) is an African-American former Catholic prelate who served as Roman Catholic Diocese of Mandeville, Bishop of Mandeville in Jamaica from 2004 to 2006. He was banned from returning to active ministry in two dioceses of the List of Catholic bishops in the United States#Province of Baltimore, Baltimore Province following a sexual harassment allegation. Bennett is also a former Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Baltimore, Auxiliary Bishop of Baltimore. An active Jesuit, Bennett is currently a member of the California province.
