Necromandus
Necromandus are an English rock band from Egremont, Cumberland, England. They were formed in 1970 and were discovered by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath in 1972. After recording one album in 1973, they split up. The album was not released until 1999. History In 1968, two West Cumbrian bands, Jug and Heaven, broke up. Members from both bands, Barry "Baz" Dunnery (lead guitar), Dennis McCarten (bass), Frank Hall (drums), and singer Bill Branch, formed a heavy progressive blues outfit they called Hot Spring Water. They were briefly renamed Taurus before settling on Necromandus after a radio show asked their audience for name suggestions. In 1972, after extensive gigging and a failure to release a record, they caught the ear of Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi, who began managing the group. Frank Hall (drummer)
Frank Hall (born 29 October 1949) is an English musician and drummer. He was a founder member of the pioneering 1960s-1970s rock band Necromandus, widely hailed as the second Black Sabbath, and by Melody Maker as "Black Sabbath play Yes". After Necromandus, Hall collaborated with Ozzy Osbourne's first solo project after leaving Black Sabbath. Biography Hall was born in Whitehaven in Cumbria. His first project was with local band, Heaven. But in 1968 he formed Necromandus with fellow musicians from Whitehaven and Egremont. Hall had meant to call the band Nostradamus, but they liked Necromandus, and the name stuck. The band was quickly taken up by Tony Iommi of Black Sabbath, who produced its first album Orexis of Death in 1973, and invited the band to support Black Sabbath on their UK tour. Ozzy Osbourne
John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne (born 3 December 1948) is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. He rose to prominence during the 1970s as the lead vocalist of the heavy metal band Black Sabbath, during which period he adopted the nickname "Prince of Darkness". Born and raised in Birmingham, Osbourne became a founding member of Black Sabbath in 1967, and sang on every album from their debut in 1970 to '' Never Say Die!'' in 1978. ''Orexis of Death'' is the debut album by English rock band Necromandus. Francis Dunnery
Francis Dunnery (born 25 December 1962) is an English musician, singer-songwriter, record producer and record label owner. Dunnery was the lead singer and guitarist for British prog-pop band It Bites between 1982 and 1990. Since 1990 he has pursued a solo career, and has owned and run his own record label, Aquarian Nation, since 2001. He has collaborated with artists including Robert Plant, Ian Brown, Lauryn Hill, Santana and Anderson Bruford Wakeman Howe and as a producer and/or collaborator with David Sancious, Chris Difford (of ''Squeeze''), James Sonefeld (Hootie and the Blowfish), Erin Moran, Steven Harris (ex-The Cult, Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction), and Ashley Reaks (Younger Younger 28s). Violinski
Violinski was a rock band formed in 1977 by Electric Light Orchestra violinist Mik Kaminski with former member Mike de Albuquerque on guitar and vocals. In March 1979 the band become a one-hit wonder with their instrumental "Clog Dance", which made Number 17 the UK Singles Chart. Tony Iommi
Anthony Frank Iommi () (born 19 February 1948) is a British musician. He co-founded the pioneering heavy metal band Black Sabbath, and was the band's guitarist, leader and primary composer and sole continuous member for nearly five decades. Iommi was ranked number 25 in ''Rolling Stone'' magazine's list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time".
