Nazish Pratapgarhi
Nazish Pratapgarhi (born Mohammad Ahmad; 12 July 1924 β 10 April 1984) was an Urdu poet from India, who was known for his thoughts and ability to create contact between himself and lovers of Urdu poetry. Early life Pratapgarhi hailed from Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh, India. Writings He mainly wrote Urdu Ghazals. He was a disciple of Seemab Akbarabadi. His collection of ghazals titled ''Naya Saaz Naya Andaz'' was published by the Uttar Pradesh Urdu academy. In 1983, he received the Ghalib Award in recognition of his contribution to Urdu literature. He faced financial difficulties throughout his life and even when he approached the film industry, he did not sell his lyrics, although he led a poor life. Pratapgarh, Uttar Pradesh
Pratapgarh, also called Belha or Bela Pratapgarh, is a city and municipality in the state of Uttar Pradesh in India. It is the administrative headquarters of Pratapgarh district, part of the Allahabad division. Etymology Pratapgarh was the name of a fort built by Pratap Bahadur Singh (1628β1682), a local king, at Rampur. Later, the area around the fort started to be known as Pratapgarh. In 2006, the Ministry of Panchayati Raj named Pratapgarh one of the country's 250 most backward districts (out of a total of 640). It is one of thttar Pradesh currently receiving funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme (BRGF). Primarily, an agragrian district, for a while now, Pratapgarh has risen in ranks as the top producer of Aonla (Amla). Ghalib Award
Mirza Ghalib Award, commonly known as Ghalib Award, is a literary award and an honor in India presented annually in the month of December by Ghalib Academy (Ghalib Institute). It was established and named after a greatest Indian poet Ghalib. The award seeks to recognize those writers and researchers who have made "meritorious contribution" to Urdu and Persian literature. It carries an amount of cash reward βΉ25,000 to 50,000 and an insignia along with a citation and a certificate of commendation. It is generally announced by the Ghalib Institute Award Committee after a consensus, comprising uncertain number of the members and is conferred upon poets, writers and researchers at Aiwan-e-Ghalib, an auditorium in Delhi. Urdu Literature
Urdu literature ( ur, , ) is literature in the Urdu language. While it tends to be dominated by poetry, especially the verse forms of the ''ghazal '' ΨΊΨ²Ω and '' nazm '' ΩΨΈΩ , it has expanded into other styles of writing, including that of the short story, or ''afsana'' Ψ§ΩΨ³Ψ§ΩΫ . Urdu literature is mostly popular in Pakistan, where Urdu is the national language and India, where it is a recognized language. It is also widely understood in Afghanistan and has a moderate amount of popularity in Bangladesh. Origin Urdu developed in the Delhi Sultanate. Urdu literature originated some time around the 14th century in present-day North India among the sophisticated gentry of the courts.
