''Nashville Rebel'' is the third studio album by American country music artist Waylon Jennings, released in December 1966 via RCA Victor. It reached #4 on the '' Billboard'' country albums chart. Background After recording two albums for RCA Victor, Jennings was cast in the Jay Sheridan film ''Nashville Rebel''. In the authorized video documentary ''Renegade Outlaw Legend'', Jennings recalled, "I went and auditioned for that and I thought I was terrible. Waylon Albright "Shooter" Jennings (born May 19, 1979) is an American singer, songwriter, guitarist, and record producer. He is the only son of country singers Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter. Charles Ray McCoy (born March 28, 1941) is a Grammy-winning American session musician, harmonica player, and multi-instrumentalist. In 2009, he was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Based in Nashville, McCoy's playing is heard on recordings by Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash, Chet Atkins, Waylon Jennings, Leon Russell, and Loretta Lynn.
