Nadoda Rajput
The Nadoda are a Rajput community found in the state of Gujarat, India.They are notable for their historic refusal to pay taxes to the sultans. Origin While having their origins in the regions of Malwa and Rajasthan, they are primarily found in the Saurashtra, Kutch, Patan and other region of Gujarat, India. History Nadoda Rajputs are one of the Rajput communities of Gujarat,they migrated from Rajasthan about six hundred years ago.The belief is that the Nadoda refuse to pay taxes to the Muslim rulers.Hence,they were called Naravaya (defaulters) and Nadoda is its corrupt form. Rajput (from Sanskrit ''raja-putra'' 'son of a king') is a large multi-component cluster of castes, kin bodies, and local groups, sharing social status and ideology of genealogical descent originating from the Indian subcontinent. Chohan
Chauhan, historically ''Chahamana'', is a clan name historically associated with the various ruling Rajput families during the Medieval India in Rajasthan. Subclans Khichi, Hada, Songara, Bhadauria, Devda etc. are the branches or subclans of Chauhan Rajputs. Origin The word ''Chauhan'' is the vernacular form of the Sanskrit term ''Chahamana'' (IAST: Cāhamāna). Several Chauhan inscriptions name a legendary hero called Chahamana as their ancestor, but none of them state the period in which he lived. The earliest extant inscription that describes the origin of the Chauhans is the 1119 CE Sevadi inscription of Ratnapala, a ruler of the Naddula Chahamana dynasty. According to this inscription, the ancestor of the Chahamanas was born from the eye of Indra. Vadhel
The Vadhel (also spelled vadher) are a Rajput clan found in the state of Gujarat in India. They are an offshoot of Rathore of Marwad. Origin About A.D. 1225 Rathore tribes of Vadhel,who are said to have been sprung from Pabuji Rathore, entered the province on the pretence of a pilgrimage to Dwarka. Here they massacred the Chavda and Harol Rajputs and seized Okhamandal. Seoji and Saitrain,The two grandsons of Jayachandra roamed about as outlaws against the Mahomedan rule for eighteeen years. Saindhava
The Saindhavas, also known as Jayadrathas, was a Medieval Indian dynasty that ruled western Saurashtra (now in Gujarat, India) from c. 735 CE to c. 920 CE, probably in alliance with Maitrakas in its early years. Their capital was at Bhutamabilika (now Ghumli). The known historical events during their rule are the attacks of Arabs repulsed by Agguka I. Sources of information The earliest reference of Saindhava was found in Navsari copperplate of Chalukya governor of Lata region (modern-day South Gujarat) Avanijanashraya Pulakeshin dated 738-39 CE which enlisted the dynasties defeated by Arabs and finally repelled by him. Mori Rajputs
The Mori or Maurya is a Rajput clan which controlled the Chittor Fort in ancient period. The Mori Rajputs were probably the most powerful power in this region before the rise of Pratiharas. Mori is also considered a sub clan of Parmar Rajputs. History Chitrangada Mori, a Mori Rajput ruler, laid the foundation of the fort of Chittorgarh. The Mori clan of Rajputs are decendents from Chandragupta Maurya, the founder of Mauryan Empire. A Mori ruler of Chittor has known to have assisted the Chahmana king Visaldeva in a battle against the Turk invaders, probably led by sultan Khusrau Shah or Bahram Shah of Ghazna. The Moris also allied with the Kachhwaha of Amber. Moris controlled the Chittor Fort and the surrounding region before the Guhila dynasty. Jadav
Jadav is a caste of India who are classified as an Other Backwards Class in the country's system of positive discrimination. They have a presence in the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan. The Jadav claim to a Rajput heritage, and thus to be kshatriya in the traditional varna ritual ranking system of Hinduism, is rejected by most other Rajput communities. Their endogamy, which is commonly thought to be an implicit feature of Indian castes, is a recent development, according to Ghanshyam Shah; they previously practised hypergamy by marrying their women with Rajputs.
