Nadia Ali (broadcaster)
Nadia Ali ( bn, নাদিয়া আলী; born 15 November 1984) is an English television and radio presenter of Bangladeshi descent. She is best known for presenting the Sunday evening show on BBC Asian Network. Background Ali was born and brought up in Ilford in the East End of London. She is of Bangladeshi descent and she comes from a conservative Muslim family background. Career In 2005, at the age of 20, Ali joined Channel S and worked there for six years on a children's live television programme. She has hosted award ceremonies and talent shows across the UK and Europe, including Channel S Awards 2011, British Bangladeshi Who's Who 2010 Awards, NTV Mega Concert and Yash Raj Films Aaja Nachle Competition. Corner Shop Show
''Corner Shop Show'' is a British comedy drama web series that premiered on YouTube in March 2014. The series is created by Islah Abdur-Rahman and consists of continuous episodes uploaded on his YouTube channel CornerShopShow, following the adventures of a young man's transition to fill his father's shoes after becoming the custodian of the family business. Premise In mid-2013, the series came to fruition when Islah Abdur-Rahman was with a friend who, like Malik in the series, was taking care of a family business whilst his father was away on business. Whilst they were in the shop, Abdur-Rahman began mind mapping a new series. Development The original music is provided by Mike Tan, the theme song features vocals by the creator, director and writer of the series, Islah Abdur-Rahman alongside former UK Beatbox Champion MC Zani. Islam in England is the second largest religion after Christianity.
