Governorates Of Lebanon
Lebanon is divided into nine governorates ('' muhafazah''). Each governorate is headed by a governor (''muhafiz''): All of the governorates except for Beirut and Akkar are divided into districts, which are further subdivided into municipalities. The newest governorate is Keserwan-Jbeil, which was gazetted on 7 September 2017 but whose first governor, Pauline Deeb, was not appointed until 2020. Implementation of the next most recently created governorates, Akkar and Baalbek-Hermel, also remains ongoing since the appointment of their first governors in 2014. Doueir
Doueir (Arabic: دوير, ''ad-Duwayr''), or Dweir, is a village of 7,500 inhabitants in Southern Lebanon near Nabatieh, and north of the Litani River. It is located directly next to the village of Charkiyeh. Although Doueir is considered a big village, it is the home of many well-known Lebanese such as former Labour minister Ali Qanso, and the late physics scientist Rammal Rammal. Kfarsseer
Kfar Sir (كفرصير) is a village just north of the Litani River, in the Nabatieh District in southern Lebanon. History In the 1596 tax records, it was named as a village, ''Kafr Tir'', in the Ottoman ''nahiya'' (subdistrict) of Sagif under the ''liwa''' (district) of Safad, with a population of 58 households and 5 bachelors, all Muslim. Kfar Remen
Kfar Remen ( ar, كفر رمان) is a city in the Nabatieh Governorate region of southern Lebanon; located north east of Nabatieh. History Ottoman era In the 1596 tax records, it was named as a village, ''Kfar Rumana'', in the Ottoman ''nahiya'' (subdistrict) of Sagif under the Liwa Safad, with a population of 83 households and 1 bachelor, all Muslim. Kafra, Lebanon
Kafra ( ar, كفرا), is a village in Nabatiye Governorate, in the Bint Jbeil District of southern Lebanon, about from Beirut. The village is located in the south-western outskirts of the town of Tebnine, in the heart of the Lebanese Shia Muslim community of ''Jabal Amel''. Kfarfila
Kfar Fila ( ar, كفرفيلا), is a town in the Nabatieh Governorate, ( ar, links=no, النبطية) al-Nabatiya, or Nabatiye southern Lebanon. It is one of the 243 towns of Nabatieh Governorate, situated at the northern region of this district, at the other side of Al-Kateh(The cutter); a shallow but wide valley, separating a group of 32 towns from the Sidon District. Jebchit ( ar, جبشيت) is a village in the Nabatieh Governorate region of southern Lebanon located north of the Litani River. History In 1596, it was named as a village, ''Jibsid'', in the Ottoman ''nahiya'' (subdistrict) of Sagif under the ''liwa''' (district) of Safad, with a population of 39 households and 10 bachelors, all Muslim. Jbaa
Jbaa (Arabic: جباع; Syriac: ܓܒܐܥ; Phoenician: 𐤂𐤁𐤀𐤏), is a town in Lebanon located about 22 km (14 miles) from Sidon and 64 km (40 miles) from Beirut. It is part of the Nabatieh Governorate. Jbaa is situated on the great Safi Mountain, and rises over (in the town center) from the sea level and then begins to rise to in the district of "Ein-Elsataoun". The village covers over . Jarjouh
Jarjouh is a village in Lebanon, located in the Nabatieh District, Nabatieh Governorate. between the villages of Houmin Al Fawqa, Arabsalim, Jbaa, Ain Bouswar, Alwayizeh, Soujod, Ain Qana. The village sits on the shoulder of Mleeta hills, with Oak forests on the surrounding mountains. Al Zahrani River spring starts in Jarjouh known as Al Taseh spring. The demography of Jarjouh is approx. 50% Christian and 50% Muslim.
