NFL Tour
''NFL Tour'' is an arcade football video game. It was released on January 8, 2008. It was developed by EA Tiburon and published by Electronic Arts under the EA Sports BIG division of EA Sports, which is also responsible for such titles as ''SSX'', ''NBA Street'', '' NFL Street'', and the '' FIFA Street'' games. The game could be considered a successor to the '' NFL Street'' franchise, but it was converted to the new hardware (PlayStation 3 / Xbox 360). Trey Wingo from ESPN is the game's voice announcer. Cover In 2007, a fan vote decided which NFL player would be on the game's cover. The candidates were defensive ends Dwight Freeney of the Indianapolis Colts and Jason Taylor of the Miami Dolphins, and linebacker Shawne Merriman of the San Diego Chargers. Merriman was later named the cover athlete. Reception The game received mostly negative reviews. EA Tiburon is an Electronic Arts video game developer, video game development studio located in Orlando, Florida, United States founded in 1994. It was formerly known as Tiburon Entertainment, which was List of acquisitions by Electronic Arts, acquired by EA in 1998. Dwight Freeney
Dwight Jason Freeney (born February 19, 1980) is an American former football player who played as a defensive end and outside linebacker for 16 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Syracuse University, where he earned unanimous All-American honors, and was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in the first round of the 2002 NFL Draft. With the Colts, Freeney won Super Bowl XLI over the Chicago Bears, and made seven Pro Bowls. He also played for the San Diego Chargers, Arizona Cardinals, Atlanta Falcons, Seattle Seahawks and Detroit Lions. Early years Freeney was born in Hartford, Connecticut. ''NFL Blitz'' is a series of American football themed video games originally released by Midway featuring National Football League (NFL) teams. It began as a 1997 arcade game '' NFL Blitz'' that was ported to home consoles and spawned a series of sequels. Rather than being designed as a realistic interpretation of the sport of football, like ''Madden NFL'' or '' NFL 2K'', the ''Blitz'' series was created as an over-the-top, exaggerated version of the sport, inspired by Midway's own ''NBA Jam'' basketball games. The San Diego Chargers were a professional American football team that played in San Diego from 1961 until the end of the 2016 season, before relocating to Los Angeles, where the franchise had played its inaugural 1960 season. Shawne Merriman
Shawne DeAndre Merriman (born May 25, 1984), nicknamed "Lights Out", is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Maryland Terrapins and was selected 12th overall by the San Diego Chargers in the 2005 NFL Draft. He earned NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors in his first season and recorded quarterback sacks in his first three seasons, also making three Pro Bowls as well as two All-Pro selections. He was hampered by injuries his next three seasons, and the Chargers waived Merriman midseason in 2010. He was picked up through waivers by the Buffalo Bills that season, but he only played minimally with the Bills due to continued injuries.
