The NAB Radio Show is an annual trade show produced by the National Association of Broadcasters. It takes place in September. Trade Show
A trade fair, also known as trade show, trade exhibition, or trade exposition, is an exhibition organized so that companies in a specific industry can showcase and demonstrate their latest products and services, meet with industry partners and customers, study activities of rivals, and examine recent market trends and opportunities. In contrast to consumer fairs, only some trade fairs are open to the public, while others can only be attended by company representatives (members of the trade, e.g. professionals) and members of the press, therefore trade shows are classified as either "public" or "trade only". A few fairs are hybrids of the two; one example is the Frankfurt Book Fair, which is trade only for its first three days and open to the general public on its final two days. National Association Of Broadcasters
The National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) is a trade association and lobby group representing the interests of commercial and non-commercial over-the-air radio and television broadcasters in the United States. The NAB represents more than 8,300 terrestrial radio and television stations as well as broadcast networks. As of 2022, the president and CEO of the NAB is Curtis LeGeyt. Founding The NAB was founded as the National Association of Radio Broadcasters (NARB) in April 1923 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago. The association's founder and first president was Eugene F. McDonald Jr., who also launched the Zenith corporation. In 1951 it changed its name to the National Association of Radio and Television Broadcasters (NARTB) to include the television industry. David Pogue
David Welch Pogue (born March 9, 1963) is an American technology and science writer and TV presenter. He is an Emmy-winning correspondent for ''CBS News Sunday Morning'' and author of the "Crowdwise" column in ''The New York Times'' Smarter Living section. He has hosted 18 ''Nova'' specials on PBS, including ''NOVA ScienceNow'', the ''Making Stuff'' series in 2011 and 2013, and ''Hunting the Elements'' in 2012. Pogue has written or co-written seven books in the ''For Dummies'' series (including Macintosh computers, magic, opera, and classical music). In 1999, he launched his own series of computer how-to books called the '' Missing Manual'' series, which now includes more than 100 titles covering a variety of Mac and Windows operating systems and applications. Jonathan Adelstein
Jonathan Steven Adelstein is an American political appointee and trade association president. He was nominated to posts by Republican President George W. Bush and Democratic President Barack Obama, serving as a Commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and Administrator of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Utilities Service. From 2012 to 2022, Mr. Adelstein served as the President and CEO of the Wireless Infrastructure Association (WIA), which represents over 200 companies that own and build wireless broadband facilities in the United States. During his tenure, WIA tripled in revenue, achieved a number of federal policy goals, and established a state program that successfully steered legislation in over 30 states. Kevin Martin (FCC)
Kevin Jeffrey Martin (born December 14, 1966) is a lobbyist for Facebook and former member and Chairman of the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC), an independent agency of the United States government. He was nominated to be a commissioner by President George W. Bush on April 30, 2001, and was confirmed on May 25, 2001. On March 16, 2005, President Bush designated him as FCC chairman, to replace Michael K. Powell. President Bush renominated Martin to a new five-year term on the Commission on April 25, 2006, and he was reconfirmed by the U.S. Senate on November 17, 2006. In January 2009, Martin announced that he would step down from the FCC and join the Aspen Institute, as a senior fellow in the think tank's Communications and Society Program.
